Five Star Pizza — Restaurant in Ormond Beach

I am very disappointed. Five star is just around the corner and has been one of the BEST pizza places around. The delivery time used to be quick and the food WAS always fresh. Last night we ordered a pizza and received the message that it was on its way. An hour and a half later, the pizza, wings, drinks and salad arrived. I do realize it was a holiday and I always try to be understanding, but this isn’t the first time this has happened. The insulated bags are great to keep the food warm. It’s not great for keeping it fresh and hot for an hour and a half in someone’s car. The sauces we ordered were not included (also not a first) and it just seems to be that the service is gradually getting worse and worse. We did speak with the manager and explained that this isn’t the first time this has happened and we are sick of leaving tips and then not receiving quick or at least accurate service. I’m really not trying to bash anyone, but a $12 tip to drive around with my pizza for 60-90 minutes when I’m less than 5 min. from the store is unacceptable. I would much rather someone say, we are really busy and it will take a while to get it to you and then just make my pizza last, before delivering all over town. Or I could just pick it up myself if their that understaffed. The manager did not refund anything aside from the .50 for a sauce and wasn’t even apologetic. We had called prior to get a status on the delivery and the girl just said “it’s on its way” without getting any information, like who was calling. The last time this happened, at least someone tried contacting the driver. She was new so I tried to show compassion on the situation, but now I’m just over it. We didn’t really expect a refund, other than possibly some of the tip that wasn’t deserved. But whatever. It was done. So we heated up the pizza and wings, tried to enjoy our night. I saved my salad for later in the evening and when I got the bag, there was juice dripping out. I figured it was just from the peppers, but it wasn’t. Slimy brown lettuce and slimy bell peppers. Gross! Nothing but old veggies, juice up like this. This shouldn’t be okay on any level. I’m hoping no one comes on here with snarky remarks or defensive, because we really are upset that we are having to cut our ties with five star. This order was under my boyfriends name and card, so this is a very real review (I’ve read others this morning). And we were big fans of this place. I know that a lot of teenagers work at this location and I think that’s great! I having teens myself, always order the XL because it’s so affordable and fills everyone up. But being timely with deliveries and getting out fresh food is definitely a must. I did not call back and complain once I saw the salad because honestly what was the point? No one there cared about anything we said. So I’m posting here in hopes the owner sees this and make appropriate adjustments with his staff. But for the time being, it’s a customer lost. If you asked me a few months ago, I would have raved about this place. I’m also not one to just jump to posting reviews. But since the manager voiced zero concerns to our call and wasn’t wanting to assist getting in touch with the owner, I’m reaching out this way. Please fix it so we can love this...

A pizza with everything is too expensive. now with the delivery charge, tip etc etc. I mean its like I would have to work at least 2 hours at a $15 hour job to pay for a pizza?@!. I can order one of the "special offers" and get wings, pizza and garlic knots for the same price as a large pizza with everything. The per toping charge is too much. how much does it really cost for onions and peppers? its not like ordering a 1 topping pizza... when you order everything you get less of everything not a full serving as if you ordered a 1 topping pizza. oh and they don't offer anchovies. I usually like their wings because its baked not fried. This time I tried "hot" wings. Mistake. whatever they put on hot wings makes the chicken taste rancid to me. I will not order that again. the delivery is fast. but I would rather them cook the pizza more then get it to me in 15 minutes. Pro tip: order well done to get the full flavor from cooked dough. Its not just 5 star all these pizza joints think because you order "everything" they can raise the prices. to something outrageous. I mean if I'm dinning in with family and they had all that overhead and ambiance that is one thing but to charge outrageous prices for an everything pizza because they charge per topping is good for their pocket, but not mine. value is what you pay minus what you get. The everything pizza is not a good value!! Pro tip to management: lower your prices you will get more frequent orders and make more money. once loyal but with recent price increases vis a vie delivery charges etc. I will be looking for more value when...

I had their pizza once before and thought it was excellent. Then I was completely blown away by their service a second time and will forever make this our go-to pizza place!! I placed an order with my local Dominos for Halloween. I paid with my paypal linked to my debit card. I received confirmation from both my bank and paypal that the order was placed. About 90 minutes later I look for an update and there was no order to be found. I realize they were likely slammed on Halloween night but an update would have been helpful. We called Five Star and asked what could be delivered the fastest. Not only was the pizza delicious but it was to our home on beachside in under 30 minutes. Other places wouldn't even answer their phones, let along fulfil a huge order and provide such stellar service. The driver was a nice as could be and was so appreciative of the extra tip he was given. They are exceptional in all aspects, I HIGHLY recommend 5 Star Pizza!! And I will NEVER order...
