This was the 2nd time we been here. The first time I did not write a review, but the service wasn't great that time either. We decided to give it another chance because we loved the street corn.
So we were seated immediately and not too long after someone dropped off our chips and salsa. Then we waited.... and waited. During this time a table of 5 was sat across from us and received their chips and salsa and had their drink order taken by their server. And we waited some more. My fiance had to stop a bus boy and ask him if there was a manager we could talk to because we hadn't had a server stop by yet. He walked away and a server came running over and took our entire order while apologizing. Our street corn came out first, as expected, but we couldn't start eating it because we didn't have silverware and napkins. So we had to wait again. We waited so long that our dinner ended up coming out before we had a chance to enjoy our appetizer. At that point we asked for silverware and water refills.
Now their food isn't super amazing. Pretty par for the course when it comes to Americanized Mexican food. But it is good and, like I said, their street corn is why we gave it another shot. It was their last chance. My fiance ordered the steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas and had to wait quite some time for the server to come back so he could get more tortillas. And when she did bring them, they were the corn tortillas, not the flour ones he had wanted. My enchiladas were fine. We had waited (see a theme here?) so long to get our check that we ended up walking up to the front to pay and I didn't get a chance to ask for a box for the rest of my dinner. Side note: we paid cash and our change was $0.59 and she handed us back a quarter. (This is neither here nor there, just added to the stupidity of the whole deal.
We didn't ask for a manager again, and ended up leaving without saying anything about our awful dining experience. We won't be back. There are other similar restaurants in town and I'm sure we'll find one with great food...
Read moreHorrendously bad experience! The appetizers were good, then they cleared the table, and took the forks away. Dinner for two, but only one entree arrived.. the fajitas, sizzling on the hot plate. No forks, and no soft tortillas.. we waited another 5 or so minutes for the silverware to arrive, then the flour tortillas came. At this point the fajita's were dead. Minutes later, the second entree arrived, luke warm and very unappetizing. There is no excuse for any of this! Amazingly, after 5 appetizers and two entrees, we were still hungry, and ordered dessert. The fried cheesecake was frozen on the inside and luke warm on the outside. Very bad, indeed! The waiter did not seem concerned with any of our issues. The bonus: spending the following 24 hours with a fever, stomach ache and possible food poisoning. I wrote to the parent company, Rios Restaurant Group and got no reply. I called their "headquarters" and seemed to be speaking to a cook in a fast food joint. The "general manager" never called me back. So much for being concerned with the quality of food and other general health issues at their restaurant. This shows me that they are only concerned with their cash register and nothing else. Huge disappointment. Avoid this restaurant. Consequently, I found their Port Orange restaurant to be...
Read moreWe have been twice now, food is ok, restaurant is nice, patio is great , service is absolutely terrible. This time Enrique was our server, he couldn’t care less about giving service. We ordered and I said no sour cream twice while ordering and then one more time after my husband ordered I said, “ make sure there’s no sour cream on my plate. We ordered a small guacamole for the chips, we ate all the chips and salsa and drank our water and still no guacamole , we tried to flag Enrique down, he never made eye contact with us and never came over, we finally got another waitresses attention we asked for our guacamole, more chips and salsa and more water, she brought it all to us, meanwhile Enrique saw another server taking care of us and never even came over to check and see what was going on. He brought our tacos sometime after that my husband had 3 carne asada and I had 2 Tex mex shredded beef. Guess what? COVERED in SOUR CREAM? Nice, awesome, I sent them back right away my husbands got cold, Enrique forgot about my tacos, because as I said he could’ve cared less about waiting on us. My husband asked where my tacos were after flagging him down and he ran and got them. Again we were out of water and he never brought any. The absolute worst!!!! We won’t be going back service sucked the first time...
