When you first enter, there is a distinctly friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are extremely attentive and are experts at their craft, from the owner, Mona, to all of the servers, and bartender. The chef and kitchen staff definitely know what they are doing, and every dish had in this visit was the standard by which other restauranteurs should be measured. Price point and quantity are wonderful. If you walk away hungry, you did something wrong. We started our meal with a cucumber margarita (glass rim with Tajin - highly recommended) and a jalapeno margarita (again with Tajin - highly recommended). The cucumber give a refreshing taste while the jalapeno gives you the great flavor without the heat. For our meal, we started with the homemade salsa and chips as well as the guacamole. Easily some of the best I have ever had! We followed up with the dippers (hand breaded Chihuahua cheese deep fried and served with the house made hot sauce) is a definitely a repeat visit magnet! For our entrees we had shredded chicken nachos (ENORMOUS SERVING and big enough for friends to share), and a steak burrito. I have to note here that I've had A LOT of steak burritos in my life, and every one of them had a chunk of fat or grizzle it then, but not here. Mona said if you can find fat or grizzle in her steak, she'll give you your money back. Honestly, this restaurant is a hidden gem. If I could give 10⭐ I would! Don't walk, run, and when you get here, tell Mona DJ sent you.

Freddie's Off The Chain is absolutely the most flavorful, pleasing, tasty and mouthwatering home cooking experience we have ever encountered!! It is located in Oswego. Excellent ambiance with TVs and indoor and outdoor seating areas. The prices are so reasonable for the portions that you receive and the extraordinary amounts of flavor that each item delivers!! There is a full bar. The Queso Birria is unforgettable!! The nachos are so huge and packed with so much flavor!! Guacamole, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, salsa, orange and green homemade sauces, the list goes on with the most excellent food you will ever encounter!! Thank you Freddie's Off The Chain!! We cannot wait for our next amazing meal!!! The friendly wonderful crew is so caring and helpful!! Don't forget that cucumber Margarita!! That is fantastic!!

I recently visited a new restaurant that has just opened its doors, and while I appreciate their efforts, my experience was a bit underwhelming. The food didn't quite meet my expectations; it felt as though it was pre-cooked and simply reheated before serving. For a restaurant specializing in Mexican cuisine, I found the flavors lacking. It seems to lean more towards a Tex-Mex style, which may not align with traditional tastes. I believe there is potential for improvement, and I hope they can refine their recipes and provide a more authentic experience. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and attentive. However, I do wonder if they are fully prepared for a larger influx of customers. Wishing them the best as they grow and develop their menu!

This review is to share my experience and to hopefully help this restaurant improve and survive. My girlfriend and I were here last night(4/19/25). The inside was nice and the bar was pretty good size. We sat at a high top close to the bar. It was pretty much a full house, so quite busy for its small size. It looked like there were only two waitresses working at the time. The owner was helping out bringing food out also. It took about 15 minutes for one of the waitresses to come and bring us chips and salsa and take our drink order. It was another 10-15 minutes before we received our drinks. We ordered traditional margaritas. It was not very good. Very weak and fizzy. Not sure what the fizz was. We ordered chicken quesadillas and a steak burrito. It took 45 minutes for our food to come to our table. The taste of the burrito was very bland. The steak didn’t have any flavor. I tasted more lettuce and tomato than anything. Rice and beans were just ok. The chicken quesadillas were chewy and the taste was like watered down seasoning they bought at the store. While we sitting eating, people were standing at the entrance and there wasn’t one staff member that went to talk to them for about 15-20 minutes. There was one girl that worked there and she wasn’t doing much. Most of the time was behind the bar talking to the bar tender. The staff was not very friendly. The bill was way to high for the quality of food. I know everyone has different tastes and some might like the taste of their food, but I do not...

My partner and I waited two and a half hours for the food, which we didn’t mind. We understand that this is their first time opening and we’re willing to wait. What upset us more is the fact that we waited one and half hours when a man and his son sat at the table next to us. They were able to get their food first before us and 2 other tables. It seemed like the owner knew them personally and ran their order first before anyone else. While we waited two hours they only waited 30-45 minutes for their food. One of the orders being the exact same entree I had ordered a hour prior but it STILL went to him. The waiter came to us 4 times during our 2 and a half hour journey. They went to the man’s table more than 10 times, with both waiters and the female owner checking in multiple times. My questions is why was their experiences more important than 3 other tables? They even offered him a free drink for the 45 minute inconvenience and we did not even receive a “how is your experience” from the owner. The man still had the nerve to complain about other tables getting take out orders and the owner made a huge announcement to the ENTIRE restaurant telling the only 2 servers not to do that. The joke was, they WREN’T take out orders! They were TO GO orders from the other tables that waited 2-3 hours!!! I will never come here again if this is how the owner treats her guest. One guest shouldn’t be more important than the other 3 full...
