We've been twice. First time, service was decent, food was good, cost was alright. It's obviously no Morton's (service or food) but it was good for being a local spot.
But when we went back just a day ago for an impromptu date night, I was really turned off. I don't eat meat and while I know... why go to a steakhouse if you're vegetarian, right? My husband does and he really wanted steak, so I checked the menu ahead of time and found a few options I could have. I'm not a picky eater (outside of no meat) so I didn't think it would be a big ordeal but apparently it was...
Unfortunately, our server either hated her job or was having an off night. There was a couple of weird things to start, like her taking both our drink orders but coming back after 3 minutes of us ordering drinks and asking me what a peach iced tea was. I wasn't sure what she meant by that so I asked her to repeat herself and then she asked me what I ordered to drink - which was the peach iced tea. Wasn't a big deal, just weird until... I ordered the potato soup that shown bacon on top and asked to have the soup without the bacon, she didn't mention that the soup actually had bacon IN it. She just took the order and then delivered the soup a bit later with bacon garnishing the top. When I asked to have one without bacon, thinking she maybe just forgot, despite me saying I was looking for items without any meat, she responded "oh yeah," as she had clearly forgotten. She came back a minute later with no garnishes on top (assuming she just scraped it all off because there wasn't any other garnishes on top anymore either). But as I stirred it, I found bacon IN the soup. When she finally came back to check on us, I asked to send it back all together because it had bacon in it and she just blankly looked at me as if I was being difficult, even though I made it clear when ordering, no meat products for myself. She offered the onion soup as a substitute, which I politely declined. I usually don't review people's service because I use to work in the service industry and everyone has off nights, maybe she was new? But, I would have thought the staff would know the menu well enough to maybe have suggested something else at the time of me ordering being that's how the soup was made (not just a topping) rather than me having to send it back 2x and making me feel like I'm causing issues.
Though, it was after that, that really got us - after I sent the soup back, she would not speak to me or make eye contact with me. She acted as though I was no longer at the table, which was really off-putting because even in the whole soup "fiasco" I was never rude or snotty. I know me not eating meat is my choice and being at steakhouse is odd and limits my choices, so I get it. I could understand if I had been super rude to her, for her to behave like that but... She only spoke to my husband when she checked in and even though I paid the check, she brought it back to him and only addressed him when asking for a signature. Also, when he asked for box she brought the smaller box and kind of threw it down on the table with the bag thrown on top, which landed in my husbands food, then walked off. It was the strangest experience. I was completely turned off from the restaurant and though I have no use for a steakhouse, my husband loves steak and we'll make date nights periodically at them, so that he gets to indulge in what he wants... but after that interaction, I'd rather drive a little further and get some better service and better food. There's enough places out here that have been around a lot longer. It's just a shame. I hope she has some better...
Read moreWe got there around... I don't know... 7 maybe? On Sunday night the weekend after labor day and the wait was quoted at half an hour, which was ok with us, in that time we watched a party of 8 that was celebrating a birthday and had already waited forever before we got there get offered 2 booths back to back but they wanted a big table together, so the manager told them that would be 2 hours at least, and a party of 8 walked out the door. Then our buzzer went off right at half an hour and we walked up to the hostess podium and were told hold on they are finishing the booth, so we stood there for another 5 or 10 minutes, then we were seated. Our waitress came right away and offered us drinks and appetizers, we declined the appetizers and my wife got a diet coke and I got a regular coke. The waitress then brought us bread and then brought our drinks but couldn't remember which glass was diet and which was regular, so my wife had to taste them both to decide which one was hers. The waitress then came back and took our order. I ordered a t bone cooked medium, a corn on the cob and a blue cheese wedge salad... which usually is a head of iceberg lettuce cut in a wedge with blue cheese, bacon, tomato... etc, what I got was 6 or 7 big leafs of lettuce with the stuff on it. Then we finished the bread and had to ask for another. Then the steaks came out and mine was great, my wife said hers (new york strip) was salty. We ate and had a good time and then my wife asked for a box for the rest of her steak, the waitress offered desert and neither of us wanted it, so she brought the box and the check, which I was going to pay with a card. She said she would take the check when I was ready and before I could pull the card out of my wallet and give it to her she was gone. Then my wife went to the bathroom and came back and waitress still hadn't come back for the card. She finally came and ran the card and we left.... granted it was a full house so I can't fault her too much. The dining area is layed out with nice size booths along the window wall with a big booth in the corner, then there is an aisle with 2 tables, it seems there is room for at least 2 if not 3 more tables, then there are booths in the middle with a wall and other booths on the other side. Then an equally wide aisle with 1 table, with room for at least 3 more, then booths on the wall. It seems that if they are running 30 to 75 minutes wait times depending on party size and 120+ for a party of 8 that maybe they should add some more tables? The food was great I think, but the service left a little to be desired because of a few small...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW I ended up getting food poisoning from something I ate here. When I woke up the next morning I could feel something wasn't right, and it didn't take long till I started getting sick. I was unable to even get out of bed or put any food in my stomach without incredible pain and discomfort. Definitely wont be going back here. đ€ą
Overall disappointing first time here... Came here on a Saturday around 4:45pm and was immediately told there was a 10 minute wait for a booth as we requested which we thought okay no problem that's not bad. Well when it was our turn to be seated they seated us at a half booth table which was annoying because that is not what we requested. Oh well, moving on... The waitress was super nice so thats the only thing that saved our experience. My fiance was super disappointed in his margarita said it tasted water down. He liked their long island ice tea much better. Also, when we got our food we noticed our potato choices were on the wrong plates so I ended up with my fiances steak and he had mine and when we mentioned it to the man who delivered our food, he told us to just switch the potatoes ourselves because if he brings it back that's all they will do and then our food will be cold... Like really, how is that your response? Okay moving on... I ordered my steak WELL DONE which it was, thank you. But my fiance ordered medium rare and as you'll see from the picture it was definitely on the well done side. He ate it anyway because he still said it was good, just wasn't what he wanted. Now for dessert, that was delicious so no complaints there! Overall, for almost 100$ bill for 4 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 dinners, and 1 dessert we expected much better...
