We arrived at 2 PM on a Thursday we thought they were closed. No one was in parking lot nor restaurant. A party of two, we were. The hostess seated us and then return shortly after and said she will also be our waitress. Even though we saw waitresses rhaving fun playing around. She took our drinorder orange Fanta It wasand Ginger ale, to start with they mix their own Gingerale with Coke and 7-Up. It was awful. if they don’t mix their own whatever she gave us was not Gingerale. we ordered cheese sticks for an appetizer, I believe they were banquet brand mozzarella sticks, we had to load them with salt and their version of what they called house hot sauce, which was actually Frank’s hot sauce put in their jar, The American cheeseburger fries and pickle, and chicken tenders and tater tots was our entrée. The cheeseburger was not bad six out of 10. The french fries were either microwaved or air fried probably yesterday. They were awful with no flavor. The tater tots were definitely from the dollar store brand.. for a place that specializes in chicken wings and parts, the chicken tenders were extremely overcooked almost to the point of burnt. The best thing on the entrée plate was the pickle. The ranch sauce with the chicken tenders we literally had to open up the pepper jar and dump into the sauce for flavor. It was just a white liquid. When the bill arrived it was $55. I would’ve been better off going to Aldie around the corner and probably would’ve been much happier, for a new restaurant it was terrible wait time after the mozzarella sticks was 45 minutes, there were no DoorDash orders etc. going out the door we were the only ones there. Why did it take so long. But when the bill came she was right on top of it . Save your money, save your time do not go to this place. It might be great if you go there for drinks and are intoxicated the food might be better to you but I still don’t recommend.. I have notices that any restaurant that proclaims award-winning anything, and pushes banners inside everywhere about how good they are usually are not !! This place did not fail and that expectation. On a scale of 1 to 10. I would say a point 5 .. McDonald’s would be gourmet...
Read moreI first would like to preface this review by saying that it takes so more than just some good food & cool decor for me to consider a restaurant “5 star worthy”. Also, the fact that a restaurant left a strong enough impact on me to even write a review in the first place should let whoever it is reading this know that I NEVER take the time to do one of these, like EVER. But when you experience one of the best, most memorable evenings ever spent at a restaurant, how can one not show some form of gratitude?? My entire dining experience at Anchor Bay was close to perfection. From the moment we walked in until my very last bite, everything exceeded expectations. Not only were we seated almost instantly but were lucky enough to be placed in the care of probably the best server I’ve ever had in my entire life. Her name was Ronni & there aren’t enough words to describe how fantastic she truly was to us. She was beyond attentive, extremely kind & patient while we couldkn’t decide on what we wanted to order since everything on the menu looked and sounded like it was sent straight from Heaven. She was very knowledgeable of not only the food menu but as well as the alcohol beverage menu and suggested me the best mixed drink I’ve ever had from anywhere else before. I wish I would’ve taken pictures of our food and everything before we demolished our plates because everything came out exactly how it looked/was listed in the menu and was cooked to perfection. Hats off to chef for that! We were lucky enough to have leftovers to take back home with us as well! Overall, I couldn’t imagine anywhere else thats more deserving of a 5 star review other than Anchor Bay. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANY AND EVERYONE, I PROMISE YOU...
Read moreCame here for the first time to try out the wings. Service was fine, but when our daughter's Mac and cheese arrived we found a bunch of little brown chunks in it. At first I thought it was sausage, but upon a closer look it was not and we couldn't figure out what it was. We notified our server and he let us know he would bring her a new one.
He came back less than a minute later and dropped off the new plate. The rim looked messy, and the food looked like it had been sorted through. We couldn't tell if they just checked the new plate or if they just picked out the chunks of the old one, so by this point we decided to just take our food to go, leave our daughter's food here, and then pay and leave. I didn't want to risk her getting sick so we ended up driving through another place and got her something else.
Before we left, the manager stopped by and we explained the situation to him. He said it was probably some old residue from their pan, and assured me that we were given a new plate. I told him that it seemed very dirty to be using pans with residue like that, and he said he pulled the pan to be cleaned. I explained that I didn't feel comfortable taking the new plate because it was suspicious to me how it came back out so fast. His actual words were "You're going to believe what you want to believe..." and continued to say it was a new plate. Even if it was, it had to have come from that same dirty pan for it to have come out that fast.
Overall experience was decent waiter, but won't be coming back due to the lack of cleanliness and obvious cross contamination...pretty big deal when working with chicken. Not worth the risk. Included photo of just a few of the...
