For me, the crust is a little too much, and overwhelms the hotdogs/ sausage inside. That said, I like the crust itself, so this time I ordered a crab one, and it was great! I enjoyed the unique flavors and textures without my brain complaining about its previous expectations. I also had crab Rangoon, which was the savory type, complete with chopped onion. I personally prefer the sweeter style, but dipped in the sweet chili sauce (not too spicy) they were very good. The churro was excellent! I've had far too many that were overcooked to the point of being chewy, but this was perfectly soft inside and crispy outside. Perfect! Service is fine, what there is of it. You can order at the counter, but there are two kiosks at the back, which I find easier, since there are pictures. There are only a few small (uncomfortable) tables, so don't plan to linger. The AC is dismal, so if it's hot outside, expect to be hot inside. One individual restroom for customers, which was out of toilet paper when we went, but otherwise fine. Not kid friendly fare or environment, so I'd plan to take the kids to McDonald's or make it a hang out with the adults day. Not a good place for a date, if you...
Read moreIn spite of having been to Seoul, I’m not going to review this place’s authenticity… what I will say is that on its own merits, this place is a tragic disappointment. My bestie and I got four items PLUS tornado fries. The breading on all the dogs had a great texture but ZERO seasoning. I didn’t even detect any salt, much less herbs or spices or anything else. Same goes for the potato-covered cheese (drawing a blank as to the official name). If one enjoys food on texture alone, this is the place. But… that’s all they got right. Prices were astronomical for the food received. My regular dog was actually several bite sized pieces, so that in the whole thing, I definitely got less than a full hot dog…
Worse, though, was the interior. Blazing hot halogen lights with no detectable A/C and no running ceiling fans? It was one of the cooler days recently (which isn’t saying much…) and we almost didn’t bother staying. The dining room is tiny and cramped. Unpleasant experience, disappointing and unremarkable food. Do...
Read moreJust had the BEST Korean corndogs of my life. Me and my family came to visit Kansas city for the first time and found K street Hotdogs and man! We only tried Korean corndogs dogs for the first time this year and have visited a few places. This one surpassed the others by far. The corndog is PERFECT, super soft yet perfectly golden and crisp, cheese at the beginning and end, just fried to perfection, and the flavor? Chef's kiss 💋. The owner (I believe, unfortunately did not get his name) is so friendly and nice, they have great customer service. He made sure we had everything we needed before we left. It was so good we went back the next day and we are sad to be leaving the city because I would visit every weekend if I could. They have a full menu with crab ragoon, crab sticks ,shrimp tempura , etc but I didn't get to try that. If you want amazing and authentic Korean corndogs this is the place to get them unfortunately both times I visited we inhaled our corndogs before thinking of getting a picture....
