I was in town on a short break yesterday and decided to stop by the mall. I wandered into this little candy shop and the lady there was so inviting. She cracked a bunch of jokes and made me feel really welcome. It felt like we were old friends. We got to chatting and she told me, in no certain words, that she was struggling to get through her day. I just want to commend her because to be able to give the energy she was giving not only to me but to all of the other guests in the store all while having a hard time is amazing. I don't know that I could have been in such a good mood if I had to help people and smile through a tough time. I'm extremely impressed with the customer care I saw and experienced today. On the other hand, I didn't know candy was so expensive š«! I didn't buy much because at almost $20 a pound, I figured I didn't need much. Lol. Oh, which reminds me, (I cant remember her name) the lady was so insightful, and really taught me a lot about different candy, I mean she really knew her stuff! I don't eat gelatin, because im pork free and she shared that neither does she for the same reason, but showed me all of the different things in the gummy candy containers that I COULD actually eat. I got a piece of this and that. Now, I have to say that the quality of the candy is really really up there. Still, the price is wild. I would absolutely revisit this store, if for nothing else, just to engage with her again. Kudos to whoever decided...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to this store many times since moving to Overland Park. I have never had an issue. However, today I had the displeasure of meeting the manager of this store. When I walked into the store as I usually do, I took my refillableās out , never had I been told that the refillable need to be shown prior to entering the store, or when, entering. I have been going to this store for 1 year and a half. The employees are extremely helpful and respectful. The store manager proceeded to scream at me, and yell at me that I had to show my refillable containers when entering. I said you can look up my account details if needed. She was standing at the front of the store and i was near the back where the sour gummy worms are located. She then proceeded to have a yelling match with me about how I did not buy my refillable containers and would need to repay them. Pointing her finger at me and telling me to come over to her like I was her son on the playground. I told her if she was a manager, that approach is simply deplorable. This was clearly racially profiling, despite us BOTH being black. This store has been nothing but good to me since I moved here. But my opinion has officially changed. This aggressive and egregious behavior must be addressed by another higher up. This incident happened 08/17/2023 around 5pm. Action must be taken...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAccidents happen and the cashier over charged me 6 dollars. I went to just have it corrected. Without listening her coworker claimed it was not so and then i tried again to explain and then āyou complaining about not being charged.ā Tried to explain yet again and she says i told you it was the candy bar.
Now my holiday has been crap and i start to cry in frustration and the coworker states, ā you are being over dramatic and crying does not work on me.ā
Next she accuses my son of putting a bag of candy in his pocket and that is what was charged. Finally the cashier confirms what i bought and that my son did not put anything in his pocket l, that i handed her the empty bag my son had because he changed his mind on getting loose candy.
Now all i wanted was the difference and a simple apology. Rudest service i have ever seen. I was petty in the end because she implied i was a liar and my son was a thief and was just rude when i was not angry or even upset when i went up to her.
My husband has left a message for management to contact us.
It has been weeks and the management has not contacted us back about the issue but has had time to respond to positive reviews. At this time i will go to the Mallās management and have it addressed there. A simple apology for the employee would have gone a long way, but that seems not to be...
