thought you would like to know about our experience tonight at the Overland Park, KS location. This was the first time my husband and I visited as we were meeting friends for a birthday dinner. We had a total party of 9.
Once everyone arrived, our drink order was taken. There was only one drink menu available between the 9 of us, so some of us had to wait to order cocktails/beer. When the drinks were delivered, I finally was able to place my order for a flight of beer.
By the time the server came back for our food order, most of the table had been waiting for refills for a long time. We had even asked for refills before we ordered our food.
My beer flight still hasn't arrived. We asked again. The server claimed that the bar was behind and was getting to it as quickly as possible, even though she was able to provide s cons and third cocktails to some at the rest of our table. Our appetizer and entrees arrived before the beer.
Our food arrived, approximately 45 minutes after ordering. I ordered the Key Lime Turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato on the side and onion strings instead of fries. My entree arrived with fries instead of onion straws. I sent it back, asking for the side id requested. A runner returned a few minutes later with the sandwich only. We asked about my onion straws and she said she'd go check.
Finally, my beer flight arrived (while my sandwich without a side is sitting and getting cold because I cannot drink liquid and eat food at the same time). It took 45 minutes to get the beer!! Finally, our server returned after about 15 minutes or more, and we again asked about the onion straws. She said she'd go check.
I finally got tired of waiting and began on my sandwich. To say it was mediocre at best is giving it a compliment. $14 for a sandwich that looked like I could have made the same thing at home and tasted better wasn't exactly appetizing or appeasing. After I had finished half of my sandwich and decided I was done with it (seriously lacked flavor), the onion straws arrived.
Shortly after, our check arrived, where we found that the onion straws were charged as a full price side item instead of a subbed item.
So, in short, you have two major issues here:
The service was worse than bad. We arrived here at 5:30 PM tonight. It is now 7:45 PM and some are still waiting on refills, while others are trying to figure out their checks that have been completely messed up - some were charged for food that that wasn't theirs and others were charged for food they never ordered. Then, there was ours, where we were charged full price for a side that should have been a subbed side for a lessor amount. Of course, there is not a server in sight to ask questions of, so here we wait.
The food we experienced certainly was nothing to brag about. The menu sounded so exciting and original. Yet, what we received could have been obtained from Subway, quite literally (as least in my case).
All in all, my husband and my first impression after trying to eat a meal here is NEVER AGAIN.
We have been charged $65.10 for a meal we absolutely hated, with absolutely horrible service and an automatic 20% tip added to our check b cause of the size of our table. Apparently, if a server lands a table of a certain size, s/he can do as much or as little as they want because they'll still get the same compensation.
This is ridiculous.

Read moreVery bad experience. I ended my night here last night and ordered a beer. I sat at the bar and was minding my own business, just keeping to myself as I'd had a really bad week. I thought it would be nice to just have some time to myself and was sitting and watching whatever was on the tv. For some reason, the bartender was incredibly rude and VERY hostile to me the entire time I was there. Eventually it became so blatant that I had to ask her what was wrong. Had I done something wrong? She refused to answer me and instead told me it was time to leave. I had spoken to no one so I don't understand why this escalated to that point. Everyone else who was there when I had arrived was still there, and she had asked no one else to leave. She had served me my beer and asked if I wanted another (albeit with a very rude attitude), so I don't think she thought I was overly intoxicated. The only thing that I can fathom is that she simply didn't like me for whatever reason. When I asked her what the issue was, because why would any paying customer accept being treated SO poorly?, and it was so obvious that even the people next to me were noticing, she said "It's time to leave and if you won't leave I'm calling security." ???? I never said that I wouldn't leave. I just wanted to know if I had done something to warrant her reaction to me. She refused to even acknowledge my question, which was even more confusing to me. She disappeared into the back and reappeared on the phone. I guess she was calling security?? This is where it became even more surreal to me. If a bartender is ok with being THAT rude to a customer and then invokes security because the customer calls out her treatment of them, then she needs to not be in a customer-facing position. Again, I had spoken to no one and was literally just sitting and watching tv. I again had to say, "Of course I'm leaving but why are you being so hostile? Did I do something? I'm just confused." I was very civil and frankly just curious and confused and baffled. She ignored me and disappeared again for a bit and then security showed up, and she was acting as though I had broken a law or something. It was totally bizarre. So I told the guard that I was always going to leave, I didn't understand why this was escalated so much, and that I wasn't doing anything other than asking why the bartender was SO hostile to me because at that point it would have been weird NOT to question it. I also said that I wasn't ok with just going home feeling like I was a terrible person because of whatever issue she had, which she didn't even have the courtesy to explain to me! Absolutely awful experience, won't be back, which I'm sure she's happy to hear. Please teach your bartender that all customers deserve basic decency, even if she doesn't like them. This was utterly ridiculous and abusive. Not ok behavior by any stretch of the imagination.
Edit: I responded to the owner's request for an email and have yet to receive any response. I waited about 5 days and sent a follow up email as well, still no response. I suppose this isn't a priority but I...
Read moreI came in the last night for some food, music, and great atmosphere. I left feeling like I will never return. I found a table in the middle of the room that was suitable for viewing the band and let the host know that I would like a server and to order some food. After waiting about 15 minutes the server appeared and took my order. After another 10 minutes or so she returned with my water and can of Guinness, dropped them off and left in a second. A can of Guinness is to be opened and poured directly into a glass so that the CO2 can properly mix with the beverage. This was not done so I went to the bar myself and got a glass to pour it into. Too late. It was already flat. When my food finally arrived about 30mins later, it was brought to me by another teammate who dropped it off and took off quickly. By this time my water had been long gone. As I proceeded to eat my dinner it became extremely cold in the dining room and I was freezing my butt off. The server never came back to check on me once during my dinner. It wasn't until I was finished with my dinner, wiped my mouth and placed my napkin in my plate that the server materialized, as if from some other dimension, and grabbed my plate and asked if everything was all right. Well, no, but it's too late now, I thought. She hadn't even looked at my table to assess whether I needed any more water. The standard in a restaurant is if the glass is half full it's empty. I let her know that I needed another water and she sped off. I never even got the chance to mention the Guinness. She brought the water back and again quickly took off. I moved to the side of the room where the huge fan in the middle of the room wasn't blowing cold air on me anymore. She never came back again even though I stayed in close proximity to the table so that I could get the check and cash out. After about 30 minutes I finally went to the server station and gave her my card and told her I was cashing out. I would have stayed but the service was really subpar and the place was so cold that I absolutely could not stand it anymore. I would have been ordered another drink but that one was so nasty and flat I could barely choke it down. I didn't even stay for the second set the band was going to play because it was too damn cold and the service, or lack of, had completely turned me off and I was done...
