We had reservations for 4, 2 of us were there 15mins early and were seated. The waiter then asked if the rest of the party were close behind, seeing as we were early I stated I wasn’t sure. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and took his recommendations on the $85. Charcuterie board. Our other 2 friends showed up before the appetizer came and they also ordered wine. When the board came the cheese were cut in very small slices and it came with 3 tiny pickles. I asked the waiter if he could bring out one more as there were 4 of us and they were tiny. I was told no but I could order 3 more, really it’s just 1 tiny pickle! Anyway, we enjoyed our charcuterie board as best we could and proceeded to order more wine and we split 2 sandwiches between the 4 of us. We all ordered after dinner drinks and as we are drinking them our waiter said the next party was there and they are going to seat them at our table then asked us to move to the bar to finish our drinks! We spent $411.00 there and now we’re being told to move! I have never been to a restaurant where I’m spending $$ and asked to move!! Needless to say we will...
Read moreFirst time there. Atmosphere was cute. Food was good. Service was good at the beginning and then wasn’t very timely. The Caesar salad was good. My friend got grilled cheese and tomato soup and my other friend got mushroom toast and olives. I asked about the chips on the menu a couple times, assuming they were homemade or a version of French fries. The server looked at me like I was dumb for asking, especially twice. Never once was I told they were bagged potato chips, literally akin to Miss Vikkie’s but they were brought out in the bag on a plate. I would have never ordered that if I knew. My friends olives came out hot and mushy. Our server was very knowledgeable and polite at the beginning but then pretty much ignored us for a long period of time. Our wine glasses were empty for awhile. When my friend mentioned the olives, he said oh they were hot. They are supposed to be and walked away. I felt like it was rude and a bit arrogant. The hostess wasn’t very nice to my friend either. I would go back but I was a little...
Read moreLocal to downtown Overland Park, and was excited to try this new place out for a quick meet up with a friend. The website didn’t specify that reserving a table was required before the visit, but make sure to reserve your table before walking in if you don’t want any weird feeling or eyes peering at you. The overall atmosphere felt elegant and relaxing.
Aside from the initial walk through, our waiter Polly was extremely friendly although her approach to every table was robotic and not personable. She poured our wine and definitely had some great recommendations. I was thankful for Polly when it came to making a selection since the red booklets made me feel intimated as if I was back in history class.
The wine was delicious, although up-charging a $20 bottle of wine for over $50 is insane. The prices of the wine in general were pretty steep. 2oz is upward of $10.
This business seems to be looking for a set niche of customers and I’m afraid that with similar reviews I read, this business won’t last in a place...
