We stumbled upon this place today while visiting the kids museum and thought we would give it a try. The grand opening is not until Wednesday so this is part of their soft opening. I had a party of 10, 5 adults and 5 kids (three of which were 2 or under). Our total time just for food was 2.5 hours. They were not very busy when we arrived and we were able to be seated quite quickly (about 5 minutes). We were able to place drink orders with ease and then place our food order with mostly ease other than a sense that the waiter did not know the menu. The issues came after. Our waiter came up to us three times to let us know that our food would be coming (the first time about 45 minutes later and then appx 15-20 mins later each consecutive time). There were other tables that we saw complain and then just leave without paying after their food was not arriving. When the food finally arrived, one order was overcooked (burger cooked well instead of medium-rare) and two orders were missing a side of slaw. When I inquired about the slaw, the waitress that brought our food out said she did not recall slaw being there but would check the menu and come back. She came back and said it was not on the menu and not a part of the meal per someone that she asked. We asked for a menu. She went to where the menus were and then we watched as she tried to find the item and then she went to find the manager. She realized that we were all watching us and after passing our table without bringing over the menu, she came back and said it was on there and she will find out if they will bring us our sides of slaw or correct the menu’s. She came back with two sides of slaw. When it was time for our checks, there were some minor errors and there was no easy way to get a manager to correct it due to how many complaints were going on from different tables around us. It took another 30 minutes just to pay due to waiting on the manager to assist and the waitress to process them (which we can see everything happening since they are in view). After we paid, an employee told us they were really busy which is the reason for the wait. My thought is that if they felt that this time was busy (when we were there), I do not see how they will be ready for their opening when the tables are actually mostly full than empty. Also, they officially open on Wednesday but several of the waiters showed that they still don’t know the menu and with only one person to go to (the manager), I don’t see how they are going to succeed if they do not make changes now and make sure everyone is adequately trained before the offical opening. I plan to try this place out again after they open to see if it changes since it is a great concept and will update my review at that time. I will ad that the fries are amazing. I also do wish we could have game cards before the end of the meal when getting the meal combos since that would help with the long wait for food, but I know they also want everything paid for before they provide it. After 2.5 hours, we were able to play the games and that part...
Read moreI brought my wife and kids here and we ordered a bacon cheeseburger, 10 hot wings, 3 mini-burgers, and chicken strips from the kids menu. Everything was cooked perfectly and the server always stayed on top of things. The prices were very reasonable, averaging about $12 per person. What makes eating here awesome is the "eat and play" combos that they have, which gives you a $10 credit to play arcade games with your entree. When you combine the price of a meal with the credit to play games, it works out to be a pretty good deal.
In regards to the games and entertainment, I was glad to see that there was a 2-player Mario Kart arcade machine and it was priced at $1 per game. Cruisin' Blast was really fun as well. More than half of the games were prize machines or "play for tickets" type of games and you will also find the typical "prize counter" as well. The machines don't spit out physical tickets, they actually save them digitally to your points card, which is convenient. The games you pay for and tickets you redeem are all handled by a card that can be reused and refilled for the next time you visit. I was especially thankful that the prices for every game to play was easy to understand and very transparent. 10 points is equal to $1 and most games were 10 points to play. Some arcades that use the same card system intentionally use a confusing points system to overcharge you without making you realize it (example: $1 = 600 points or 1200 points to play etc).
Unfortunately, there were some minor gripes that I had. The "bowling" isn't your typical bowling at all. If you are looking for a traditional bowling alley where you put on special shoes and pick a custom ball, this place isn't for you. This is miniature bowling. The bowling balls are so small that a child can hold one with one hand. The bowling lane is tiny and even the bowling pins look like they come from a $1 store bowling set. It's kinda funny, because they show stock photos around the place of everyone holding large bowling balls and having a good time. If you have small kids with you, the bowling might be fun for them at least.
My only other complaint was the seating could have been a little better. I prefer sitting at a booth, but most of the seats are square tables with 4 chairs. It gets the job done, but the lack of table space will make you want to avoid ordering too much at once.
Overall, I had a really good time taking my wife and kids here. We ate some tasty food, played some games, won some prizes, and poked fun at the...
Read moreWe came for District first night of Trivia. We arrived at 6:45pm. First problem tables dirty, so we just picked a table and sat and waited for someone to come over and clean. Well no such luck. One your girl came over and said she was not a server and not her job to clean or take orders. So,my daughter went up,to,the hostess and the hostess proceed to,tell her that she could not help. So my daughter went to the bar and asked for a manager and as she waited a server came up and asked if she could help and She did. The server took our drink orders. Keep in mind this took 25 minutes for someone to help us. So the server took our drink order and we didn’t get our drinks until 10 minutes later, oh and by the way it was 2 waters 1 soda, 1 beer and only the waters and soda came. We waited 45 minutes for a beer. Now onto the food. We put in our order nachos, pizza, small boneless chicken basket and. Brownie sundae. Waited 1hour for pizza. Then 1/2 hour later Brownie Sundae. Then another 45 minutes for chicken basket oh yes and try to tell us this was the $25 basket and a order the small basket. At this point I asked for a manager. The manager came over and blamed his kitchen staff and comp our meals. Shame on the manager for blaming it there and not taking any responsibility. Also still have not gotten our nachos. Until another 1/2 hour later. Now I left the restaurant at 9:45 and the rest the of my family left half hour after me. We did not blame the server for how unorganized the restaurant was. We tipped her extra for trying to give us good serves. Now on another note. I have been in the restaurant business for over 25 years. It’s so appalling to see how 1 manager did not train his staff and also did not have a full staff working. Reason I know this is because the manager said he was short staffed in the kitchen, bar and servers. Also I believe the staff was not properly trained. And I blame management for the staff not being trained and not having any help. I know many residents were looking forward to this business coming. So I do hope District works out all their problems and hopefully the Arcade/restaurant can stay in business. Looking forward to more Trivia nights and...
