If you have had the distinct displeasure of being checked out by Megean at the Oviedo Mall GameStop then you have surely been exposed to her sarcastic and condescending attitude. Not only did she talk down to my daughter and I during check out with our EARNED rewards points and gift cards ISSUED by GameStop corporate she demanded to HOLD my phone, not just see it, in order to verify the origin of the email instead of simply taking the redemption code.
After leaving this store for less than 30 minutes I realized she did not give me back my debit card and I called to verify if it was there since that was my last transaction. She not only sarcastically said she had it but she went as far as to look up my rewards account and noticed that my last name was different, recently married, bypassed my PHONE NUMBER and proceeded to call my bank to report my card for fraud. She had the nerve to repeat these details over the phone and even left a note on my debit card when I returned to pick it up feeling like some sort of hero. It is also VERY important to note that Megean even insulted another group of customers during my shopping trip, teenage males, and condescendingly asked them “Why are you here if you have no money?” Who does she think she is? I called the GAMESTOP corporate office to report the prejudice I received in their store and recorded the entire conversation on their customer service line with rep Jimmy.
I also mentioned to Jimmy that GameStop has a long-standing reputation for overcharging on games. Many customers have found that they can purchase the same games at significantly lower prices by simply browsing the internet. This practice is particularly concerning because GameStop specifically targets gamers, many of whom are young kids. As a parent, I have often felt obligated to shop at GameStop despite their inflated prices because it is marketed as the go-to store for gamers.
Megean went beyond her duties by delving into my personal information and contacting my bank without my consent. This breach of privacy and the subsequent actions she took were completely unwarranted and unprofessional.
As a result of this experience, I made the decision to cancel my rewards account with GameStop. I no longer wish to support a company that allows its employees to behave in such a disrespectful manner and invade customers' privacy. Additionally, I am actively considering pursuing legal action against GameStop for the prejudice I encountered and the violation of my privacy.
It is important for companies like GameStop to be held accountable for their employees' actions and to ensure that customers are treated with respect and dignity. My hope is that by sharing my story, others will be made aware of the potential mistreatment they may encounter at GameStop and that steps will be taken to address these issues within...

The manager high pressured me into prepaying to purchase the yearly membership in January. It supposedly came with a bonus reward and he also told me I could use my bonus reward on my current purchase. After I paid for the membership he responded with that the system won't allow him, but don't worry, I'll be able to use it on my next purchase. Oops I guess.
The membership is also supposed to come with a $5.00 monthly reward, however for the the last 2 months they refused to let me redeem this in the store. When I go in they claim it was "already redeemed" but they confirm that it wasn't redeemed to MY account. I can't confirm if there is any foul play or not as only the employees know I have a membership and all it takes is a phone number to redeem. Apparently they don't care if its redeemed to your own account according to the store representative. The employee Sylvester called his manager "Zane" to see what can be done but was pretty much told too bad. I can't confirm if this was the same manager that high pressured me into getting this in the first place as I didn't get that guys name but I wouldn't be surprised.
All I can say is be careful if you do decide to shop...
Read moreA completely decent GameStop if you plan to buy something. But even if, I suggest any other GameStop if you could. I walked into the store as happy as could be as the worker at the desk asked “are you guys looking for anything” and we responded “no we’re just looking around” which is actually a completely normal thing to say in that situation even if you DID plan to buy something and you know exactly where to get it. She responded “at what?” Loudly and aggressively. We just came in and God forbid GameStop gets traction as digital is getting more common. And she just rudely said bye any second we even got within 5 feet of the door in a store that feels like it’s 20x20feet. I am NEVER displeased with ppl that work in the retail industry because I know it’s not fun but to antagonize someone the second they step in a store is the exact opposite thing to do. Not to mention she made fun of my friend for being poor (not exactly “haha you’re poor” but kinda like “why come here if you’re too poor to get something” more or less). I would suggest to go here just to not buy anything just for giggles and hopefully it was just a bad day but talk about...
