BEWARE: go literally anywhere else in the area.
After finding my 4th grade binder last week, I’ve been going through a PokéRenaissance, trying to complete it. I’ve spent well over a grand this past week and have been to every card shop in the area: Game Time Cardz, Big League Cards, Layton Gaming, ect.. all of these places have a great selection, fair pricing, and friendly service staff. This place has none of either.
They have a poor selection, and the cards they do have are double to triple what they’re worth. For example: $40 for an unlimited MewTwo that I paid $16 for yesterday at Layton, in similar condition. $25 for a scratched up fossil unlimited Lapras that’s worth $10 at most. When I asked the guy if the pricing was negotiable, he said no and got really defensive when I told him why I was asking. He tried justifying the Lapras with TCG Player and didn’t know what Pokédata was. He then rudely told me I was being loud(I wasn’t, I’m just outgoing and jovial. He was simply upset that I was exposing his pricing in front of other people), so I just left when I realized the scam.
**I admittedly came back to get the MewTwo pricing for this review. When he told me to leave, I did regrettably tell him what he could do to himself in a profane way. There was only one adult female in the store at that point. Regardless, I don’t ever plan on returning. This was the only negative experience I’ve had at any card shop in the area. Any other place you go to in the area will have fair pricing and friendly/helpful staff. STEER CLEAR
Edit: It’s your store and you’re free to price things however you’d like. I respect that. I just asked if the pricing was negotiable. You could have just said no; I was about to leave anyway since you didn’t carry anything I was missing. You wanted to have a discussion about it and became defensive when I tried explaining my position. You escalated the situation and accused me of being loud, which upset me. In response, I left. I wasn’t loud or rude, I didn’t yell across people, ect.. I do have a somewhat loud voice in general and I think you got upset that other people could hear our conversation. Regardless, it wasn’t until I came back in to verify the pricing for the review that I used profanity, as I walked out, since you told me to leave and I felt the whole situation was unwarranted. I do regret doing that and it’s the only mistake I made, besides wasting my time coming in to begin with. I do need to learn not to be so reactive to other people. I recognize that and I’m sorry I said that to you. I’m never coming back anyway. Feel free to do whatever it is you feel...
Read moreI had two experiences at this location. The first experience was monday afternoon 10/21 I first called and spoke with supposedly the manager who said all his guys buy cards everyday and i was more then welcome to shop around my cards at the other card store in the mall as well to see who treated me well or offered me a better price. The guy was super nice, so I decided to go to the store to sell some cards. The associate there purchased 6 cards from me cause the manager had already left. It was a great experience. I went in today, and from the beginning, the guy was rude going through my cards and then said 18 dollars. I said cool let me think about it and then he was like, annoyed "If you leave, the offer is no good." I was like, why is that. He continued to say i might shop it with someone else. I proceeded to ask what the managers name was cause i didn't remember and was definitely getting treated differently from the time before, where the associate took over an hour sitting with me and talking to me. and he was like, it doesn't matter. There is no manager. im the owner. it's only 18 bucks." I said well if it's only 18 bucks, then why are you pressing me to do it right now or never....he said, "" Have a good day." So i said why you being a prick?" Then he said, "Have a good day again." Not very professional or welcoming. I just sold $111 dollars in cards the other day to them, and now im nobody with 18 dollars like get out if you're not gonna sell them. Like what kind of business ruins their business like this. Unacceptable, i would not go here or have my teenage kids playing cards here ever for any event. The funny thing is they wanted more of my cards. I told the first guy who bought some from me that I might come back and sell some more, and he was like, great. Look what happened with the owner there.......smh I did call him a prick, but that's what happens when you treat people badly with your demeanor, body language, and attitude.

I walked in randomly to see if they were interested in buying some of my cards, and a really kind gentleman named Kevin helped me, he’s always there when I visit the store and I’ve bought a few singles here and there from him, but today was different. He was so patient with the amount of cards I brought, while he was looking we were both sharing our own experiences with different things and it was great, Kevin is so open minded and kind. Definitely one of the most community oriented places I’ve seen in years! While he was helping me with my stuff some smaller kids came up to ask him stuff and he is so kind to the kids. He told me what he did before he opened the shop and his love and passion for what he does now shows! I will continue to come back here for all of my card needs. He was also so respectful to my collection, while he was pulling cards out of my binder to buy, the ones I didn’t want to sell, he gave me new sleeves for them and was so gentle with everything. His store also has an easily accessible case to show cards up for sale. All in these really easy to view glass cases mounted on the wall, you can easily see every card up close and it’s very enjoyable to poke around. Thank you so much again Kevin! (I hope you liked the little snom keychain! It was the least I could do for your kindness...
