6/16/24 - 11:30 am - Previously, we have had good service, but the manager erased all of that today. We should have known something was wrong when the waiting area was empty and no one waiting on the sidewalk on a Sunday morning. We were seated immediately, as it was only about 1/2 to 3/4 full. Many empty tables. It took 20 minutes for a waitress to come and take our order. Over 35 minutes went by and I went looking for our waitress about our order. She said it was in the kitchen but she didn't have time to get it and bring it to us. She said she was too busy. I said so that means our order is sitting getting cold. I got the manager, who said she'd get it. My pancakes came out cold 45 minutes after ordering, with that toasted feel from sitting far too long under a heat lamp. My wife's came out as the wrong order. Manager brought another out, but they were clearly not the right pancakes. Instead of rectifying it, the manager argued with us. We asked for the check and she brought it. She said they were just so busy. About a third of the store was empty. The waitress showed up one minute later asking if we were ready to pay. That waitress hadn't done a thing but was quick to ask for money! No, we wanted it since the people next to us had waited 20 minutes trying to pay. With wrong food and cold food, we decided to leave, so with no staff around, I took the bill and payment to the hostess' counter. The manager came and said I needed to pay the waitress. I don't her no, I don't have a half hour to wait to pay. I also told the manager that if I were the manager of that store, and had customers get treatment like that, I'd be picking up the bill and apologizing. That apparently went right over her head. We were in there an hour and all we got was an incorrect order with cold food. I don't know what has gone wrong in that store, but I can only recommend you stay away. My previous 4 stars has gone to ZERO. I'm force to put one star in to post. They earned ZERO today. 2019 - We've been to this IHoP several times. Service is normally good, but occasionally, the waitresses can be a bit slow coming back in the middle to check on things. Of course, it is normally packed on a Sunday morning. I've had this Spicy BBQ Omelet and it is a lot of food. and it is spicy, with a lot of jalapeños in it. Overall a good deal but usually a long wait on a...
Read moreSeems like the trip was a bust from the very beginning of breakfast. We were seated and never given crayons for the little one. I asked for the vanilla iced coffee they advertised. First, I was told the coffee machine was down and that they had absolutely no flavored creamers other than half and half. We were getting ready to leave and suddenly the server said that the manager just had to flick the machine and it was suddenly in working order. They brought my iced coffee out in a milkshake metal canister. The coffee tasted like they had thrown vanilla ice cream in and mixed it up.
It was first thing in the morning and multiple tables of grown men were swearing and cussing and when you bring a little one in that's not the environment we are looking for. We got through breakfast and decided to run to the bathroom before we left.
The bathrooms stalls were in complete disarray, there wasn't even hand soap in the dispenser. I was standing at the door of the bathroom and all of a sudden one of the male workers opened the door, I'm assuming to finally clean the bathrooms which should have been done prior to the restaurant opening. Instead of cracking the door open and asking if anyone was in the restroom, the employee just lightly knocked and proceeded to walk in until he saw me standing there and then apologized and left. I asked to see a manager to discuss my issues with our dining experience this morning and decided that with everything that had transpired they obviously don't care about the restaurant or the condition that it's in nor the service that they provide. So we proceeded to leave and definitely will not be back.
THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER DID NOT LEAD TO AN ACTUAL SITE TO REMEDY THE ISSUE. THEY SENT A LINK THAT DID NOT WORK OR CONNECT US WITH WITH THE FRANCHISE. BEYOND AGGRAVATING AND WILL NOT...
Read moreWe used to be regulars, but no more. Something has changed drastically. Could be new management, new owners …. Food and service have taken a nose dive.
Breakfast a few days ago, I ordered the “buttermilk biscuits” and “sausage gravy.” When it came out I honestly thought they had mistakenly given me two halves of an English muffin; about 3” diameter and 1/2” thick. The server said no, their English muffins are smaller. These “buttermilk” biscuits had the consistence of cornbread and tasted like they were made with flour and old grease. When I pointed this out, the server briskly told me, “We don’t make the biscuits, they “come in like that” and walked away. The gravy had no sausage, not even a sausage flavor. I suspect it was actually milk gravy, made with milk and flour.
When the check came I told her my meal was inedible.and I wanted it taken off the bill. She went to get the manager. When I explained it all to him, he actually laughed when I said English muffins and said the biscuits came in frozen and all they do is heat them in the grill. That, I told him, might explain the old grease taste! He took it off the bill, but he didn’t seem the least concerned about the complaint.
In my opinion, iHop is guilty of gross misrepresentation. The biscuits are absolutely not buttermilk biscuits, more likely they are just flour and water. The “sausage” gravy is most likely just milk and flour with a little salt and pepper. Except for the oily taste of cooking grease, neither had any flavor.
Bad food is bad enough. Coupled with the nonchalant, disinterested attitudes of both staff and management, this is a restaurant to be avoided. Better food and service can be found just down the road at Kiki’s, The Breakfast Club, or...
