Wow! Easily the best meal I've had in Owensboro. My partner and I spent time looking around for good food. This restaurant was only a block away from our hotel. We looked at the menu online, and it looked extensive and delish. We decided to go for it since the photos looked good, and it was nearby. We didn't realize that they had just opened. But that didn't matter. The food was excellent. We ordered potstickers as an appetizer. They were perfect. Fried to perfection, and the dipping sauce was great! Next up, my partner ordered the 6oz sirloin medium rare. It came exactly as ordered, medium rare. She gave me a bite and that was very tasty. I ordered country style pork chops with 2 sides, loaded mash and cole slaw. Everything was perfect. The chops were moist and tender, while the breading was crunchy. The sides were packed with flavor too, with the cole slaw having some zip to it. And finally, the pecan pie. Man alive! This is the perfect way to end the meal. Or it could be a meal itself! The pecan filling was spot on. But the best part of this is the flaky crust. You know the part where some of the filling spills on the edge of the crust? That's the best part. Caramelized and flaky. I ate the crust all around the edges while my partner ate most of the filling. As for this being their second day open? You couldn't tell. The service was excellent, and the food spot on! As I said earlier, easily the best food we had in Owensboro.

A bit pricey for the portions. We got sweet tea and Dr Pepper and they were noticeably watered down. Steak was cooked perfectly (medium) but not seasoned. Mashed potatoes were great. Shrimp was good just a little tough. Was hoping the Cajun pasta would at least be spicy. It just tasted like regular Alfredo. Salsa tasted too much like plain tomatoes. If I’ve gotta use the screen to pay, I’d much rather it be on the table like other restaurants and not have the server hovering over me waiting for me to get done. It’s a little intimidating. I know they haven’t had the grand opening yet and I don’t mean to be rude with my comments just some constructive criticism. I know there used to be a restaurant there before them and I’m guessing they didn’t change out the carpet in the area we were setting in because it was dirty. The atmosphere is somewhere between wanting to be a classy restaurant, but also wanting to be a sports bar. And I’ve noticed a lot of restaurants nowadays the workers will talk about complaints amongst themselves out on the floor where customers can hear, if you wanna talk break room talk do it in the break room. My husband only got a burger and fries. Chips and salsa came as one of my sides and our check came to $85. It probably won’t be a place we go to often if at all again cause I just didn’t feel like it was worth it.

First time visiting. granted restaurant has only been open couple weeks but first impression was not good. 1. no access for those with mobility issues. Large stepup and all the handicap spots are pretty much far away. No direction to alternative entry point if any. Inside spacing for walkers or wheelchairs issue. 2. long long time... got to restaurant about 11:20 which we were seat... server didnt appear until 11:45 or leass thats when she put order in. 3. My mom ordered a BW club...sad little sandwich...one small piece bacon bread wasnt toasted and was served dry. we had to ask for the honey mustard... 4. I ordered the half pount boneless with caribbean jerk. The boneless came out organe colored and the sauce tasted nothing like caribbean jerk. I asked the server about it...she took it back and said nope "she" whoever that was it would be impossible wrong sauce was used... the server brough side of the jerk and it was brown was had jerk flavor. 5. main was the fajita grilled chicken wrapped...no veggies just wet chicken and cheese wrap. The server as we were waiting kept pushin us to order chips and salsa... glad we didnt. Hope you have better experience. $50 lunch way too much. Provided photos

Served bacon without my consent.

I ALWAYS read reviews before going somewhere new and this was the one time that I didn't. Big mistake on my part. Our family of 5 decided to try out this restaurant on a Saturday night. We arrived just before 6:00 and opted to sit outside to avoid the 35 minute wait inside.

Our server was lovely and attentive. We ordered the southwest egg rolls and they arrived promptly and were tasty. That's the last good thing that I have to say. My husband and two kids ordered a burger, my daughter ordered the kid's shrimp, and I ordered the Spin Dip Chicken Wrap. We waited over an hour after the appetizer arrived and still didn't have our food. The sever came by and apologized for the delay a couple of times and brought us complimentary chips and salsa. At this point we were hungry and annoyed, but fine. As our food was being put on the table, we noticed a family leaving that had arrived after us and sat inside.

Then dinner came and everything went sideways. Our food had clearly been sitting under the warmers for a long time. Our food was DRY and hot, the lettuce on my wrap was charred. After the second bite of my wrap, I told my husband that I thought I tasted bacon. He double checked the menu and said that bacon wasn't listed on the menu. I haven't eaten red meat in 26 years, but I still remember what it tastes like. A couple more bites and I was confident that there was bacon in my wrap. The sever came by to check on us and I mentioned that I thought that there was Bacon in my wrap. She said it must just be the breading from the (grilled) chicken. I stopped eating it and pulled out a piece of the bacon for my husband to try. He confirmed that it was in fact bacon.

At this point we asked for a manager. I haven't consumed red meat in over 25 years and I didn't appreciate being served red meat without my knowledge or consent. When the manager FINALLY came over, he seemed flustered and overwhelmed. We told him about what happened and he was very apologetic. He offered to comp my meal and offered a discount on the rest of our meal. My dinner sat there, barely touched. Given that I had hardly eaten anything, my young kids offered to take the patties off their burgers so I could at least have some bread to eat.

We then waited another 30+ minutes to receive the bill. We were on the verge of walking out because this entire experience took well over two hours. My husband and I have both worked at several restaurants and we're more understanding than most. But this was an absolutely awful experience. A large percentage of the world's population does not consume pork and to serve pork in a dish without clearly stating so on the menu is absolutely unacceptable.

As other said, the portions were small and the prices were high. Needless to say, we will NEVER be back or recommend the...

Unfortunately, we had a comically bad experience at Big Whiskey’s on a Friday night. We seriously couldn’t do anything but laugh at the whole experience. They had many tables available when we walked in but ended up waiting about 25 ish minutes, which we didn’t think was too bad for a table of 5. They initially tried to seat us at a table that only held 4 people and we had to go back to the host stand to request a larger table.

After we were seated, we ordered drinks and an appetizer. We waited about 40 minutes for our drinks and another 20 for our appetizer after that. Our waitress informed us that the bartenders were very behind this night and she apologized. There were multiple times where the waitresses weren’t sure which appetizers should go to which table so we ended up getting free food and other people ended up not getting the correct food. The appetizers were good (fried pickles & beer cheese and pretzels) but that was about where the good part ended.

We were sat for around 2 hours with still no food. An hour after ordering, the waitress came back and informed us one of the meals was no longer available. We waited longer and longer and then they finally began getting food. Except 3/5 of the orders were incorrect or missing a side item. The GM came over and spoke with us and comped everything except the drinks, seeming clearly defeated. One of our orders never came out at all (RIP the rack of ribs). We honestly just wasted so much time and the drinks were overly expensive but it was comical being able to bond with table neighbors outside about the mutual terrible experience. Pretty sure half the restaurant got their food comped that night. The servers were kind throughout the whole experience and we felt bad for them, knowing they were all struggling & equally as frustrated as everyone else.

They just simply weren’t ready to open. Would maybe consider trying again but not for another 6 months or so assuming I have another 2-3 hours to spare if things go south again. They have the potential to be good but would definitely hold off until they figure...

I pondered on not even writing this review but since the GM made a asinine comment I'm going to. Got seated at at 6:20 Received drinks at 6:45-6:50 Received appetizer about 5-10 minutes after drinks Then waited around for another 30 minutes and still didn't have entrees. In total we were seated there from 6:20 to 7:35 and still did not have entrees, so we told our waitress we would just get the check for drinks and app and be on our way. Then the GM (or atleast he saod he was the GM) comes over to "apologize" and say it was unacceptable and what not. My problem comes in with him then having the audacity to say "we aren't going to charge you for the sandwiches"..... are we referring to the sandwiches we never got? If so, I would assume it's well known that we aren't going to pay for the sandwiches that we waited forever for and never received, what an asinine and borderline smart elic comment to make, as a GM you should know better. I understand having hiccups when you're a newer restaurant, but over an hour and still no entrees is wild. I'm a patient and easy guy to deal with, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. We will not ever be back.

also feel free to check my review history, I try to give everyone a good review and very rarely do I leave bad reviews, this bad review is well earned and I do not take it lightly because I understand how sometimes things happen. I was not going to leave this review until the GM came over and rubbed me very wrong. Do not act like you're doing me the favor by not charging me for items you...
