Smokin Jack's BBQ — Restaurant in Owosso

I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich combo with coleslaw and baked beans. Unlike most barbecue places they only had one flavor of barbecue sauce. They are more like a fast food restaurant since they only have 4 full size tables and 1 one seat table. The combo comes with a drink but no name brand drinks like Coke or Pepsi products. They only have Fargo to choose from or a bottle of Sam’s Club water. The coleslaw was good. The barbecue sandwich was also good but the baked beans were dry and tasted more like pork and beans than barbecue beans. For the price of $14.00 I felt it may have been a little overpriced for the quality. This was my first time here and as disappointing as it was it will be my only time here. The music they were playing was Head Banger music which I do not care for. Then comes the extra charge if you want to use a credit card. No 3% will not break me. Their food—absolutely phenomenal! The BBQ was cooked to perfection, with that perfect smoky flavor that just melts in your mouth. The pulled pork and brisket were tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Mac n cheese is out of this world! We love the pork sandwich and BBQ Mac n cheese bowls!

I ate here for the 2nd time last night. It’s a must-try in Owosso. I got the pulled pork sandwich with sides of potato salad and coleslaw. The pork was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and sauced. The coleslaw is a mystery in the best sense. I could not figure out where all the flavor in the slaw came from, but it was perfect. The potato salad, however, sorry Grandma, was the best I’ve EVER had. It was creamy, with diced potatoes, full of flavor.
