Well, the food is healthy but rather flavorless and bland. I like the IDEA of eating there - organic, vegetarian, homemade and love the Happy Girl products, but the menu is not all that exciting compared to other cafes like this. Although the coffee drinks are good. Cookie and baked goods not so much. Also, I don’t remember it looking quite so much like a delivery warehouse - the love and care from this brand doesn’t really extend into a cozy warm space for dining. Giant pile of flattened boxes in front spilling into the sidewalk. I know it’s hard to get good employees these days but was disappointed that the kids working the counter forgot my order altogether. There needs to be some supervision for customer service. If you leave a diner (prepaid order) sitting there for 45 minutes with no food, it’s not good customer service to say first: “I didn’t even know you had a food order!” And then second: “Well now do you want it to go???” (I’m supposed to eat my lunch running down the street, what?) How about profuse apologies and maybe a free coffee or dessert to make up for it? Seriously. Also, because they rushed to get it out, I’m pretty sure the sandwich was not what it was meant to be. Anyway. Probably...
Read morei don’t ever write reviews but this is the exception. as a vegetarian, and similar to the other negative reviews, i wanted to like this spot, since it was really cute, women-owned and focuses on health. here is what i found to be the main issues:
the vibes were initially pretentious and the place felt gentrified. this was shown through the food and prices. the portions were incredibly small for pricing; i was served a small bowl of lentils and rice for $13 and my main issue: the food was BLAND. BEYOND BLAND. how do curry lentils end up this bland?! :( ive never seen something normally so flavorful messed up like that. my friends ordered the soup and sandwich of the day, and the avocado toast. the sandwich of the day was seriously lacking in flavor, along with the soup and of course my curry. the house made sourdough was delicious though!! but it was the only thing salvageable from our order. and was not worth the amount of money we paid.
please please work on your seasoning, i’m begging you!! that was actually insane how unseasoned our dishes were. this place could be really great if the food was tasty. PEOPLE; VEGGIES DONT HAVE TO BE...
Read moreThey have a sandwich of the day. I tried it and it was delicious. It made me think about what the sandwich of the day was like yesterday and what it might be like tomorrow. I wish they offered the sandwich of the yesterday too, then I could compare them. Maybe the sandwich I got that day was the same as the day before. This one sandwich just keeps having it's day. If that's the case, I'd prefer more transparency. Like instead of sandwich of the day, it should be sandwich of today and the last two days. I guess it's good to be present and not harp on the past, but that seems unfair to historians and all those restaurants that still have "people love us on Yelp" signs from 2022 and earlier. What I really want to know, is if a sandwich of the day has been able to have it's day for a full year. That'd be real impressive. There's a reason they don't have a man or woman of the day award. Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if the sandwich I got that day became the sandwich of the year. It...
