All of the good reviews are just a result of incentivizing reviews for a free preroll. Thought we'd try a new dispensary, as this one just opened. The security outside greeted us and was kind. As we went inside, we weren't greeted, the lighting was fluorescent and none of the sales racks had any prices on them. When we were ready to check out, the salesperson didn't make much conversation and I had asked about new customer discounts or other offers, and she didn't have any information. Usually dispensaries are stoked to have new customers and hook it up. After we left, we agreed that this place was just not the vibe. I looked at my receipt to see what kind of discount they applied, only to find out that the bud tender double charged us on TWO items. (we only purchased 3 items total). We circled the block and returned to get our money back. As I went in and explained the situation to another bud tender, the previous girl looked at me and gave lots of excuses, she kept talking and mentioned something like "oh yeah, I noticed that happened once you left". They have my phone number, and could have easily called within that timeframe. Anyways, the manager came out to help and he seemed like a nice dude, he told the tender to offer me an even better discount. So all in all, I ended up with a 30% discount, but this place is just not happening. Felt like a back alley dispensary. REEF dispensary is where its at, if anyone in Monterey is looking for a friendly, fun, chill vibe with so many products! They also have a rewards system in place to earn...

Finally we get a dispensary of our own, right here in the Lighthouse District of New Monterey! We passed an ordinance two years to permit cannabis dispensaries within city limits, and it took that long for a brick and mortar store to open up. I live a 7 minute walk away, so I'm in trouble... 😅😵‍💫

The selection here is great and super fresh when it comes to the flower and hash. I'm a medical cannabis patient who usually grows my own, so I'm pretty selective about my medicine. There is definitely a gigantic edible and vape selection. I've tried several of the solventless rosin vapes at the budtender's recommendation and was really pleased.

Speaking of the staff, everyone I've encountered here are great humans, not just good employees! One staff member is a veteran of the local medical cannabis dispo world, and she always takes care of me as another patient. I really appreciate the staff having compassion for medical users and our situations. 💚

Knowledge of product is important, so while everyone hasn't tested every product personally, they pay attention to what other customers have said and give honest reviews of products they have tried. Super important to understand what you're selling in the cannabis world, since many other dispos have staff that treat it like any other retail job.

This place is kind of like back when you had a dealer and you had to kiss their butt and put up with however they treated you that day because you just wanted to smoke!

I'd rather drive to Seaside's 4-letter word for an oceanic structure for better service. Some of the security are the issue, rude, cold, angry at nothing, Mr. Q knows. Inside staff is pretty solid. G and Jaz are awesome.

This place will do good with tourists and the visitor crowd, and those who dont appreciate service or don't wanna drive to Seaside. Kind of like how a tourist trap does ok because of traffic, but never quite gets there with the locals.

It isn't an easy review to write. I live blocks away. I participated in the process of getting our city to allow the license. I waited and watched and talked about it before it ever opened. I campaigned to my neighbors that this was going to be good for the area. I visited on day 1. And on day 2. I have tried again and again and again. Someone flat out does not care if this store makes it. Or else the money coming in outweighs the desire to provide quality customer service. Why change if it makes...
