My kids and I had the absolute worst experience ever. My daughter and I have been to this maze numerous times before and there has always been very kind staff who made the experience fun. However todays experience made us not want to ever return. I am guessing the guy that was up front was the owner or manager not sure but from the forst time we came into the store about 11:30am he was being very short and rude to my kids who were not being disrespectful and who followed all their rules, we decided to leave cause he was being rude and we left for a few hours and came back to purchase the laser maze tokens and so the kids could do the mirror maze more. I didn't go thru the maze this time with my kids as I wasn't feeling well but my kids were all 13, well as I sat and waited for them the owner/mngr was joking around with other kids and families and having people see who could make it out of the maze first, he even told one group that his record was 20 seconds and that they could try to beat it, he even went and hide things in the maze for that same group. well when my kids wanted to see if they could beat it he told them no they couldn't even though they were NOT running or being rude and pushing thru people, he singled my kids and I out for some reason not sure why. My kids were very upset because they did nothing wrong and they didn't understand why he was being so mean to them. At this point I wouldn't recommend any of my family or friends go into this...
Read moreIt was nice to have a family fun spot on Cannery row. It was short, but we were all expected to understand what to do to use the laser games without any instructions provided to us. Not even one comment, we are new to the facility, its an experience we learned was created in Germany, please don’t expect everyone to just figure it out. Since the kids are 6, 6, 9, 9 & 10 it wasn’t intuitive that they have to simultaneously hit the reset buttons while tag teaming. We also were only told that one laser was broken because a prior guest had smashed it, rendering the dual laser avoiding game almost totally useless, after two sets of two kids went through & had a few seconds to play instead of the 30 seconds the games normally last. Its already short, to improve guest experiences provide instructions about games and explain the deficiencies guests will experience before selling them 24 games, not haphazardly as they experience known issues. It is also patronizing to re-explain the deficiency when it is well understood we were asking for a little compensation of one game with 2 kids since we’d wasted 6 game tokens trying to use the facility in a way that staff clearly knew was not...

I was really looking forward to visiting the Monterey Mirror Maze and Laser Challenge, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The mirror maze itself was incredibly small and felt over in just a few minutes. It lacked any real challenge or creativity, which was disappointing for the price we paid.
The laser challenge wasn’t much better. The equipment felt outdated, and the setup was far too basic to be engaging. We expected something more immersive and exciting but were left feeling underwhelmed.
To make matters worse, the staff didn’t seem particularly interested in enhancing the experience. They were indifferent and didn’t provide much in the way of instructions or enthusiasm. For the cost of admission, we expected a much higher level of quality and entertainment.
Overall, it felt like a tourist trap rather than a worthwhile attraction. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re okay with spending a lot for very...
