Smith's — Restaurant in Pahrump

First my daughter had gone in to get me a convenience cart as I am disabled, as I waited in my car. She waited until one was available. An older gentleman who had walked up indicated it was his to the clerk. My daughter said that she had been waiting for one longer and that he had just come into the store. The clerk gave him the cart even though she explained the situation. I had to wait more than 45 minutes instead of 15 minutes. I do understand that these chairs are not guaranteed, but that doesn't mean others are anymore deserving either. My daughter was able to follow another customer to her car, help her load her groceries, hold her purse, and assist her into her car. Where was the carryouts?!

Then came my bajery isdue. Jeannette was unwilling to allow me to purchase a cake with whipped cream frosting stating that they only sell those to people who pre-order cakes in advance by 24 hours. She indicated those cakes are all kept in the freezer. I have purchased at least 10-15 cakes a year and normally pre-order but this was last minute.

Thankfully, I was able to call Albertson's while at Smith's who assured me that they had plenty of cakes on display with whipped cream frosting and more in the freezer if I needed a flavor not out. They were very helpful so I went to Albertsons and discovered some great deals as well. I don't usually shop there but I will be returning do to the level of customer service I received from every department. I am not sure what is going on with this particular Kroger/Smith's store. In the past, this store rocked, but this winter has been disappointing. This store use to have a special section for gluten free items as well as selections throughout the store, but not anymore. If you can't find what you want amongst all the other items in a general section you are out of luck. Prices are higher than Vegas Smith's stores and in the past they were about the same, even less expensive sometimes. They use to be well stocked and rarely ran out of items. Now if you are not the morning early bird shopper, you will find Smith's a frustrating experience. Tonight, I arrived about 7:30 PM. The lights over the produce were already turned off! I had a hard time seeing prices. The meat display was finished and packed up by 8. I wanted some gluten free matzos crackers and most all the boxes looked as if they were badly dented and damaged yet they were still a whopping $8.50! This is the highest price for this item I have encountered during all my travels throughout the nation ! They were Not marked down at all due to the damage to such a fragile item. If it wasn't for their savings program which includes fuel discounts I would have bailed by now. Those can really add up if the meat is on special or there are many promotions running mix and match throughout the store to choose from 5 for $5.00 off etc. This particular store needs to step up it's game. Smiths is one of my very favorite if not very favorite store to shop friendly customer service always there to help the customer shows how to pick out fruit take out their time to go back and look for something that we might be needing and they don't have on the Shelf usually the old ways have everything on the Shelf though but in cases of sales sometimes they they may be but if you talk to somebody they will take the time out to go look for it I love their self checkout they're very competitive prices and most of all the people and don't forget of course the pharmacy I could not change Pharmacy the people there are have really gotten to know and they know their customers so well that's usually known by name they do everything they can to get medication for you they usually always have medication for you they will get contact the doctors they are friendly I just love them I hope this is help some people understand what it's like my shopping experience is always great at Smiths lots of smiles lots of great parking spaces plenty of handicap parking spaces restrooms always clean and just all-around a very great experience I recommend this to anyone needing to go shopping I'm pretty sure most of the people in Pahrump already know this but in case they don't I'm hoping this will help them and for the people that are driving through visiting on vacation or whatever the case may be I hope they will have just a great experience as I have and has many other...
