I've been dying to do this review shearly out of the 1st impression made...
Not a great place to be honest but still slightly better than Bruno's pizza. The 2 stars is strictly for the service of our waitress who tried her best. The first 3 items we wished to order off the menu we're not even available on a Friday??? Then one of the 3 tap beers we're out. (Of course the non light beer) leaving only 2 watered down choices for the picture. There is a Max of 3 drinks served to each customer and had it not been for my wife being with me I wouldn't have gotten a picture AT ALL, but hey it's your place so your rules I guess. I had made it simple... I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich sauce on side so I could truly see what they served, me being a cook. The chicken was old... Not only old... BUT COLD! Marinara was more like tomato soup. Me personally I don't send items back I just try and if I don't like it I don't return. Needless to say I will not be returning to this place... It's cramped, food is retched, but at least the service was nice. I don't know what the heck the cooks are doing back there but the fact my bread was hotter then my chicken I'm guessing they are practicing for the big circle jerking competition arriving in town. I didn't ask to talk to a manager because truly nothing would change. I would get some comped food, a petty/false apology, and he would feel offended, when truly I am offended to be served this 🐕 food. The owner himself should already be on top of the situation by expo-ing the food himself if not one of his trusted managers. This place is clearly ran by others and not by him standing around mean mugging his customers. Maybe he would be more useful in the office... Making sure he ordered what was needed for the restaurant, which clearly he has not done right either. My advice to the public..... you can do way better then this dog house... my advice to the owner....tighten up your kitchen, that was truly pitiful to...
Read morePoor quality food delivered to me on consecutive orders about 3 weeks apart. The first instance, I ordered a pizza that arrived cold & with very little cheese on it. Which sucked for a $25 pizza. I didn’t make a big deal of it, as that had not been my typical experience with Nikos. But, I expect this overpriced, poor quality experience from Pizza Hut across the road. The second instance was this past Saturday, Feb. 11. I ordered a large House Special pizza with cheesecake for dessert. I only ate 2 pieces of the pizza and a cheesecake. I was starving. The pizza just was not good, at all. Less than an hour after eating, the vomiting and diarrhea began. This was around 8p on Saturday and lasted until about midnight Sunday. Nikos Food Poisoned Me!! No excuse for that. I don’t know who’s running this place now. Don’t know who is in charge of food safety. But, it’s completely unacceptable. Combined with the tip, I spent $40 at Nikos to be food poisoned, miss the fights on Sat night with my family, miss the fish fry on Sunday with the family and miss the Super Bowl. All while bedridden and in agony for about 30 hours. Thank God I didn’t eat more of it. I’ll never eat there again under any circumstances. Food Safety should be the first priority for a restaurant. I feel fortunate not to have wound up in the hospital. Not Recommended Eat Here At...
Read moreFor decades, I've had the pleasure of dining at Niko's with their super-friendly staff, as well as delivery to my home, which is so convenient.
We usually get the longer deluxe sub sandwich & large Greek salad (always get their delicious oil & vinegar dressing on the side!), pizzas for the kids, spanakopita for my husband, and manicotti if I want pasta. For a family of 4 this is gracious plenty, with leftovers for lunch the next day. The sandwiches all come with chips. Pastas come with a house salad and garlic bread.
The decor is nothing fancy. Basic booths, tables & chairs. Ambiance is not hushed or lush, nor is it a picturesque romantic spot. It can be noisy with chairs scraping tile floor, but also full of laughter and friendly conversations. No beautiful views of the river to enjoy, but the food is nicely presented.
The salads are made with super fresh, crunchy vegetables arranged to appeal to your eyes. Your nose, mouth, and teeth won't be far behind! I personally don't come for the pizza. Plenty of other places have pizza, but Niko's is the only place around here to get Italian and Greek menu items.
If you want delivery, call in your order well before closing. My heart has been broken more than once after being told it was too late...
