Café Bistro at Nordstrom — Restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens

You'd probably be surprised to know that the restaurant inside the Nordstrom department store is actually very, very tasty. I know I was!

I wasn't really aware Cafe Bistro was actually worth stopping into until my dad took me there a few months ago. He always raved about the food. I thought to myself: "How can a restaurant inside a department store be THAT good?" I had figured it was probably a dumpy sandwich place where the food was mediocre.

Boy, was I wrong.

First off, the restaurant is located on the second floor. You give your order to a cashier and then you are seated at a table or a booth in the cafe. It's not particularly big, but I've never seen it super crowded so there's always been a place to sit.

The waiter brought us our drinks and then we waited a little bit until my dad's French onion soup came out. I got to have quite a bit of the French onion soup and it's some of the best I've had, maybe behind Berns but ahead of the rest. The cheese is melted to a crusty perfection on the bowl and the soup is just salty enough without the taste being too overpowering.

I usually order the salmon but I substitute the risotto for vegetables. The salmon is a perfect portion size -- not too big but not too small, either. All the vegetables I've had have been cooked pretty well and aren't too tough or too mushy from being cooked for too long. The butter sauce that comes with the salmon is divine.

I have yet to try many other things on the menu, and still haven't gotten around to the desserts at Cafe Bistro, but everything I've tried so far has been really tasty and basically everyone I've ever gone with has said the same.

Pricing is typical mid-tier pricing and service is usually really friendly and speedy.

I use to recommend and eat here all the time. My husband decided he would pick soup up for myself and my son were both sick. It normally comes with two pieces of bread when you order the bowel and we ordered additional for each bowel. When he got home we discovered that there was one piece of bread to share with each bowel and the extra that we paid for were missing. The soup was cold and did not taste good at all. We called to ask what happened and were told as we ordered it online they could not refund us for the additional bread that we paid for. I should have trusted my gut and have my husband pick up soup from Whole Foods instead of overpriced soup from a clothing company…. My bad. It’s an over...

Will never go back service suck food is bad will not feed my dog with it oder the most expensive sandwich on the menu waitress came to me and said they out of that sandwich I can pick a different one for the same price so basically pay more for less my girlfriend food show up 20 minutes before mine also bad no silverware I had to get it my self from different table but they don't care cause you tip them before they serve you great idea not for the costumers really...
