It was a very heartbreaking experience as my family and I looked forward to some good Italian food. We arrived for our 5pm reservation at 430 for the men to enjoy the happy hour with drinks and appetizers while the women went to the market store. When our table was ready I asked the male host if it was ok that we bring our three small appetizers to our table where he responded ‘oh yes and we can help bring them in’. We brought our appetizers inside but my husband and brother informed us they were yelled at by the manager that it was unacceptable and who said we were allowed to bring them to our table. The manager made a scene on the exterior patio. Hind site, we paid for said appetizers and and drinks with a generous tip before coming inside to our table. Once we were seated our waitress came over and was fine at first but then we were approached by ANOTHER manager that it was not ok to bring the appetizers inside and asked us if we were even planning to order food. Of course we were having dinner! Why else would we have a reservation? After the second manager, our waitress had an attitude with us the remainder of the night and never asked for our drink order. She came back and said sternly ‘ready to order’ which we ordered drinks and dinner. She never came back even with us asking for more bread (we were a table of 6 and a 9 month old baby who was exhausted). She ignored us and kept waiting her other tables and brought extra bread to them but never us. Next time she visited was to bring our food which was luke warm. We ate and felt like we were rushed out and a nuisance to the restaurant. We still tipped her generously and in cash as I felt this was not her fault for our poor, upsetting experience but, the managers who most likely scolded her for us bringing in their appetizers. I am still baffled at what happened last night and will now take my family down the street to limoncello for Italian dining. Again, heart breaking experience to feel like a nuisance and provided poor service when we did nothing wrong. I hope others don’t have this horrible of...
Read moreThe food and wine were delicious! Although, our server wasn’t very attentive and was very unprofessional when my friends and I went to pay for our meals. He had about 3 or 4 other tables it looked like he was attending to, all being “older” people. This is an issue I experienced many times being a young 21 year old. Often times servers or bartenders won’t pay any close mind to me because they think I won’t tip well. This could not be further from the truth. Though, if it wasn’t my age that was making him inattentive to our table, it must’ve been that he had too many tables to wait on. So, if it’s a busier night, maybe try to have more staff working so one waiter doesn’t have too many tables. Or, maybe that number of tables is normal for the waiters to have, he just couldn’t handle it properly. Furthermore, when my friends and I went to pay, we agreed to split the check. For whatever reason he said we weren’t able to split the appetizers though. I think that’s silly, it’s 2025 I feel we should be able to split the cost of an appetizer between 3 people. Now, there was some confusion on our end. We all thought it was a single check and we were all taking turns paying our part. So, when we went to tip we thought it was going to add up on the single check. Turns out this want the case. I went to pay last and I ask my other two friends how much they tipped so it can add up to 20%. Our waiter then looks over at my one friend and says in a very condescending way how little she tipped him. He then looked over at my other friend and praised her for tipping 20%. Blows her kisses and rubs her on the back. He was also standing behind each of us when we went to pay, staring over our shoulders watching closely at what we would be tipping. I have never in my life experienced anything like this at a “nice” restaurant. The waiter typically leaves the check and walks away. If you are going to stick around, at least back away a bit. This behavior was unacceptable. I will never come back if that’s how my friends and I...
Read moreWe were a party of 4. We were seated outside looking over the marina (with the parking lot in between) the tables are shoehorned in so as to maximize patrons. We were often bumped by neighbors sitting at the next table. Not their fault. It's just really crowded Even though we were seated outside; it was still incredibly noisy and hard to carry on a conversation.
Service:
We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waiter didn’t show up for 10 min, answered some questions and then we didn’t see him for another 15 min, when we placed our order. Actually never to see him again till we tracked him down so we could pay our bill.
Food: below is what we ordered
Pollo Arrosto : Half Herb Roasted Chicken, Fresh Rosemary Demi-Glace Sauce, Roasted Potatoes & Sautéed
Piatto della Nonna : Meatball, Sausage & Pork Chop, Served over Spaghetti Marinara
Pappardelle Carmine's : House Made Wide Pasta, In Garlic & Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Cervellata Sausage, Broccoli Rabe, Grape Tomatoes, White Wine Sauce
Dentice Rughetta : Pan Sautéed Yellowtail Snapper Fillet, Fresh Tomato, Mushrooms, Arugula, White Wine & Lemon Sauce over Linguine
Let me comment on the food
The Pasta is delicious, but that is where it ends the chop was dried out, the Fish was defiantly pre frozen and not fresh, and the chicken was inedible (overcooked). The Manager stopped by 1/3 of the time through the meal as they do in most restaurants, when we told him our concerns, to our surprise no explanation or apology he brushed it off and left. “I guess they are so busy he does not need to care”.
Parking can be a nightmare with the overcrowded lot. There is complimentary valet parking. So that does not become an issue unless you do not like to valet.
Bottom line – We were thrilled and look forward to coming here----- only to be disappointed. It is not worth the ride. Don’t be fooled by the white...
