We arrived at the Palm Coast Wendy's at 10:30pm and the young man at the drive through mumbled quickly - I couldnt understand him. I asked my husband what he said, did he say they were closing soon? Husband said yes and it may take 15 minutes for our food. I looked at the hours again and the store closed at 11pm - in a half hour, not a few minutes. We ordered 4 Jr Bacon Cheeseburgers (2 no tomato) and a large fry. The first thing we see is the woman scoop the fries into the cup and set them aside. Now, if you think the food is going to take 15 minutes, instead of having the fries sit there getting cold/old, maybe it is possible to ask the hungry customer if they would like their fries now while they are waiting? Especially if there is only one order to wait on so no one should be confused that we got the fries already. All this time there is also a stack of chicken patties piled up next to the fryer, about a dozen, like they are going to be thrown out. A lot of waste. Still waiting on the cheeseburgers, everyone inside is busy mopping and cleaning. When they are making the burgers, the guy cleaning the floor keeps getting in the way of the person making the burgers (that person had to grab a plastic knife from the drive thru to spread the mayo because they already put stuff away). It did take 15 minutes for them to make the food and the fries were old when we got them, we had a few and threw the rest away. There was also tomato on all 4 burgers instead of only on 2. The only pleasant part of the transaction was the other young man who handed us the food. He was very nice and friendly and said the food was made fresh. The burgers were good despite tomatoes on two that were supposed to be no tomato. It is really rude to tell your customers that you are closing in a few minutes when you are closing in a half hour. Employees should be kept busy but the floor in the kitchen should be the last thing cleaned and really shouldn't be sweeping or mopping when food is being prepared. Except for the young man who handed us the food, we did not...
Read moreI live real close to this location but had a bad experience with Jr. Deluxe Cheeseburgers. Buns were ancient, disgusting and fell apart to the point we threw all the sandwiches away. Didn't go again for another year, but in desperation ordered the same thing again. Same exact problem...ugh. Manager and workers could care less about anything. I was so fed up I called corporate and talked to a very nice lady who said the manager would be contacting me. Uh huh. That's been quite a few months now. Never heard anything. I will NEVER go back to this one again. That's the difference between this place and McDonald's. I had an issue from them one time and the manager called me that day, apologized profusely and went above and beyond to rectify the problem. I'd rather support a company that respects their customers. That's what proper training does.
👉🏼 DEC, 2018 UPDATE!! Still never heard anything back from Corporate OR the manager of course, but just for the record I had a friend who moved down here recently and said she went to the one on Old Kings Road in Palm Coast for the first time and told me how horrible it was. I started laughing and told her yeah I already knew. She said the burger tasted like rubber, the baked potato was about the size of a golf ball and the salad was disgusting. She said she'll never make that mistake and will always go to the one in Bunnell she had previously always went to. Sure wish they'd do something about it... but if CORPORATE doesn't do anything, who else will? Pretty sad. I absolutely love Wendy's anywhere else I've been traveling.. I'll never go near this one again. So sad because...
