Four adults for dinner on Wednesday night. We had no problem parking, it was an early reservation. Our first impression of Cipolline Osteria was that it was fresh and new and had good smells coming from the kitchen. All good signs!! However as we sat at our banquette facing the highway we realized that the acoustics were not great, the area became quite noisy as the night went on. The menu is simple and the service was good, no complaints. We ordered Negroni drinks, we all thought they were a little light on the liquor. Then on to the appetizers, we had three that we shared, Ricotta and Cipolline, Crab Cakes, and Calamari, they were all very good, and very generous portions. Our main courses were a disappointment however, one Shrimp Scampi, and a pesto dressed dish, both with tagliatelle, again shared amongst the table. The pasta was okay, but a little past al dente for me, both sauces were very watery. Conclusion: you should try this place, their price structure is good, and we would like to see the restaurant be a success in Palm Springs. I'm willing to give them another try. They have just opened, and the staff has not gotten their legs under them yet. Give them a try. They are as good as some, and better than some local Italian...
Read moreVa tutto bene, perfecto per noi! Great restaurant. Cipolline Osteria’s Italian “inspired” dishes are perfect for the nights when we want to try something that is deliciously different yet very appealing to our Italian (Sicilian) palates. I don’t use the good, better, best comparisons because Cipolline’s just isn’t in any of the traditional Italian categories, and there are many. The Calamari Fritti with peppercinis and lemon garlic aioli is my new favorite calamari dish, it was flavored just right for me and cooked to perfection. This is a must try restaurant for anyone who enjoys Italian Cusine. We have already returned several times and have never been disappointed. Diane has introduced us to some wines that were just right for us. I would also recommend getting on the mailing list so you can find out about special events like the upcoming “Vino Della Note” presentation. This was our choice for the 2024 Dine Out For Life. Keep up the good work, see you again soon. Gracia...
Read moreWe were blown away by the food at this unassuming neighborhood restaurant. Apparently the chef also has a restaurant in Tuscany and goes back n forth, and you can tell by the quality of the food. We recently moved to Palm Springs and have been looking for great pizza, and we’re happy to say that this is the best we’ve found. The lasagna was the real thing; delicious!!! Everything was hand made, pasta, desserts, bread; everything. Speaking of desserts, the Basque cheesecake was a knockout. The Negronis were fab and we had a great bottle of Vernaccia which was reasonably priced, as frankly was the entire menu. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We will be back to try the rest of the menu, but for now we are so excited to have found such a gem...
