Romantic getaway!
My stay was absolutely lovely a state of de Los Reyes for one night and the moment I got there I was excited. At the Los Reyes I felt like I was in a Spanish revival Bohemian apartment luxurious and that was affordable, not to mention humble, with minimalist decorations. I done some research on the property and I know that it was on a TV show that helped the owner of the hotel,Ruth, get situated with becoming a hotelier. Upon my arrival I went into the lobby to check in, I received a room key from the receptionist wide spoke to 10 days prior to book my room. I looked about the lobby, it was spacious and also sells clothing. There were two industrial style tall bar style tables to sit at. As I was chatting with receptionist making sure everything ran smoothly, my best friend was enjoying a retton spherical chair suspending from a chain and the ceiling. He was pre-gaming for our get away and played in the chair for a moment letting out whimsical laughs. Jokingly he asked if there would be a chair like this in the room we're staying in. The receptionist playfully laughed at that remark and then stated that other guests of the hotel have asked the same question. Even going as far enough to say, "Can we have this installed in the rooms?". I will note that when I arrived I was quite nervous and anxious because I had stayed at the Desert Lodge about two weeks before this day and it was nothing great. I believe I had a handicap room where the bathroom door with swing out in the small hallway which led to the toilet and shower. The shower had no wall and was it very large. It was perfect my partner and I 😉. Take note the walls are not that thin, however you most likely will hear the guests outside your door. The shower water was very hot and there was no warm middle ground unless you wanted trickling lukewarm rain drops... that was something I could have fixed with a simple phone call to the lobby however I was quite busy during my stay. After my shower the entire hotel room was fogged up and needed to be aired out. The King bed was very comfortable! I slept really well on the memory foam. If you move too much in bed you will have to readjust it on the wood frame. The rattan style chair was very comfy. I adore the industrial, Spanish revial, Bohemian, minimalist look of my room. It was perfect for my personality. I had searched air bnbs in the area for weeks, other hotels and things of that sort... And the moment I saw the "Boho King" room offered at Delos Reyes I knew it was perfect. I didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool because I didn't bring my bikini but there's always next time. I loved the greenry and garden! It was so spacious and there I made friends with a beautiful Black cat.I notice is hotel property welcomed guest with animals I saw a loose dog walking around who knew how to control himself and a smaller dog playing with kids.I called the hotel and spoke with the receptionist about the room and what I was looking for in my room: renovated room view of the San Jacinto Mountains King size bed Bohemian style room
So I asked for the "Boho King" room. On different hotel booking sites it was offered for $120 a night without taxes. I let the receptionist know that I was on a budget and it would be costly for me to stay there for one night in the room that I wanted. So he offered the boho king room for $85. with inside a small chat about my last name and history about it and then had a good laugh together I was happy to make that connection with him and I felt I made the right choice with this hotel. Every my second time staying in a hotel and the first time was not a great experience. Stares at Desert Lodge, their neighboring hotel with dager eyesOnce checked into my room I looked over every corner and fell in love with the decor, furniture and the comfort. my room was a ground-floor room and had a patio that opened up to the outside parking where my car was nearby. Although the patio gate was locked it was easy to move things from the car into the room that way. Google cut my...
Read moreI booked this room for the weekend for my birthday and when I arrived, the gentleman at the front desk was kind but I was very upset because I did not receive any check-in instructions nor was I told that there was a $100 cash deposit. Whether or not the deposit is refundable at the time of my check out, I feel that that needs to be disclosed before my arrival. For all they knew, I just flew into town and took an Uber to my hotel and now I’m being told I have to go over a mile away to pull out cash. They also state that they are pet friendly but when I arrived, I was charged $25 per night for my dog. I know it sounds like a book and I’m not even halfway done.😂 now once I got into my room, I immediately noticed that there was no counter space in the restroom for me to place my belongings while I took a shower and when I went to pick my towel up off of the towel rack, I’m not even kidding. The entire thing fell out of the wall. The crown molding in the shower was literally falling off of the wall. I found two baby roaches crawling on the wall. The mirror on the wall was falling out of its frame. Every single plug in the room was crooked as well as the TV. There is no security flip lock on the door. The floors look like they have been clawed out by a damn cheetah. The coffee machine that they provide does not even reach any of the plugs in the room. I was given the death stare by two drug dealers that were staying in the room next to me when I arrived back from breakfast. And the room was just overall dirty. I also would like to add that when I checked out, nobody even bothered to check my room to see if it was destroyed or not. They gave me back my hundred dollars no questions asked. Now this may not seem like an issue to a lot of people, but to me that hundred dollars seemed like a big F u. I can confidently say that I will not be staying at this hotel again. I could’ve stayed at Motel 6 in downtown for $20 less and had a much better stay. There was also long hair in my shower and nobody that was staying in my room has...
Read moreAfter 5 minutes, we left. As my friend was checking in, I walked around the complex. The pool was filled with bugs and there were tons of chlorine tablets just chillin on the bottom. The buildings were in awful shape. Cracks, dirt, super old pool furniture. One of the balconies had trash everywhere. The trash cans were overflowing. The blinds in the office facing the pool were brown and broken. When my friend came out, I immediately said no.
Once we got into our room, it was UNGODLY hot. We had to turn on the ac, but of course, it didn’t work. As we walked around the room, we noticed the shower was leaking upon arrival, the toilet was not clean and covered in hairs. The sheets were dirty and had holes in them as well as a few hairs, and lots of wonderful crusty yellow stains on the sheets.
As we stood there deciding what our next move would be, I reached up and pulled a roach the size of my pinkey out of my hair. We then searched around the bed I was near and of course we found the bodies of other roaches. We immediately left. We could tell the manager felt bad when we told him that we were going somewhere else, but honestly, we had to reach out to the health department. Please, do not stay there. This place should be condemned and not listed as a suitable place of customers. In other reviews I’ve read, the hotel comments and apologizes, stating that COVID has placed a pause on renovations, but honestly, I would have way more satisfaction if I could convince someone to pay the extra money and stay elsewhere rather then them go through the same things as us. Hotels are like nose jobs, you pay for...
