If you're in Palm Springs and craving seafood, Fisherman's Market & Grill is a "solid" choice. Reminiscent of the seafood joints you'd find in San Francisco, this place offers fresh Alaskan seafood in a laid-back, market-style setting. It's not fancy, but it's a local favorite and more affordable than many other seafood spots in the area 💸.
With a variety of options on the menu, first-timers should definitely ask for recommendations to navigate the offerings. During our visit, we tried several dishes with mixed results. The shrimp tacos were decent, but we felt they could use more shrimp and less salad 🌮. The campechana, unfortunately, was a letdown, with too much ketchup and not enough seafood.
The oysters, however, were the standout dish—fresh and delicious, they were definitely the highlight of our meal 🦪. The service was friendly and the prices were fair, making for an overall pleasant dining experience.
For those looking to try their specialty, we recommend the fish n' chips. They seemed to be a crowd favorite and looked fantastic 🍟🐟.
Overall, Fisherman's Market & Grill is a great spot for locals and visitors alike who are looking for a casual seafood meal without breaking the bank. It may not be fancy, but it delivers on quality and value, making it worth a visit if you're in...
Read moreI actually went to the fisherman's market and grill twice in one week. First, I went with a buddy who also likes the place, but has rather pedestrian tastes. We both had the two piece battered cod fish and chips.
It it comes with coleslaw, and fried potatoes that are seasoned. To me, the coleslaw was good, but not spectacular the fish was excellent. It was deep fried in a better that did not interfere with the taste of the fish. The better was firm but not hard, and it kept the fish warm and moist. We both used tartar sauce with our fish, but it almost wasn't necessary.
The potatoes tasted excellent. They are deep fried slices of medium sized potatoes that have been seasoned so that one does not need ketchup on it if you're inclined that way. They still taste good with ketchup.
The next time I went, I had the grilled salmon entree which came with coleslaw and either either potatoes or rice. I chose the potatoes again.
The person I was with chose the sand dabs with rice for their entree. Neither one of us used any sauce. The subtle flavors of the fish came through on both of our dinners.
With the pandemic, there is plenty of outside dining. Luckily, Palm Springs is only cool in the evening. there are also heaters to help...
Read moreThis place is in the middle of the desert... and its hands down THE BEST fish place I've ever been to. Family and friends from around the country can't wait to visit me because they know the first night for dinner will be here. The prices can be steep, but you definitely get your money's worth-large portions and off the boat fresh (because it was brought in that morning from the coast). Seating can be a pain especially on Friday and Saturday nights... but so so worth it. You will not be disappointed. There is a fisherman/fishdock motif, this adds to the charm- not cheesy. You order in the kitchen area, and get to see the cooks-so theres accountability and get to choose you seating. Theres also a bat area with live music if your feeling spicey on the weekends m. Parking can be a challenge, though not terrible. Fishmermans is great for family, dates, get together etc. Oh! And this location is the best one in the...
