Checkers — Restaurant in Palmetto Bay

SHORT VERSION: Highly unappetizing food and extremely lazy employees. You couldn't pay me to ever eat there again.

FULL VERSION: Greasy everything, soggy bread, and just overall kind of gross.... Also, compared to other fast food chains, their sandwiches are not only small but sparse.. I'd compare it to something off the value menu at other chains but worse and with less flavor. Also, this particular Checkers had the most uninterested employees working the windows. They didn't bother to give us the total or even a receipt. We assumed it was in the bag but when we drove off and realized that we didn't even know how much we had paid on our card and that the receipt wasn't in the bag, we went back. What blew my mind was that it took the 2 girls that were there well over 5 minutes to respond to someone knocking very heavily on the walk-up windows trying try get their attention when they were no more than 7-8 feet away. Meanwhile, the food was getting cold and soggier by the minute and the employees were standing around talking and doing absolutely nothing since the place was a ghost town (hmm, I wonder why?) and when one of them eventually decided to do her job and respond to our request for a receipt, she first seemed completely baffled as to who the hell would want something like a receipt and then she acted irritated over having to actually print the receipt. It honestly made me want to throw the food back in the window and call their management team. Let's just say that my review here is my nice way of dealing with those 2 employees that were maybe just having an "off" day. I could've called corporate management instead. Maybe they just need a reminder that the people that buy food there are the ones that make their wages possible. I know fast food work isn't easy and it isn't fun, but just like the rest of the working world, we all put up with the daily grind and do our best to not look like we'd actually rather be dead than at work. And for people that can't work for some reason or another, I'm sure they'd be grateful for a paying job in the first place. I speak from experience.

So, that's my review. Sorry if it's too blunt. And before anyone gets the idea that maybe the employees were rude and lazy because of something we said or did, let me clarify that we were nothing but nice and completely polite. We didn't even mention to them that we'd been knocking on the window for over 5 minutes (I would've said something but my sister is a much nicer and kinder person than I am). Just wanted to make it very clear that my review is 100% honest about the food being pretty much the most unappetizing fast food ever and also 100% honest about the unprovoked, lackadaisical and unpleasant attitudes we received from the employees. Checkers' seasoned fries are probably the only thing keeping the company and this particular location in business, especially if the food and service are always as bad as they were...

Two times I have tried to get two different orders at this place ( 13625 S Dixie Hwy Miami Fl) and two times the Night Shift have been rude. The orders are always delayed even when the team is complete. The worse experience happened today Sunday February 5th, 2023, at 2:00AM with one of its employee that treated me like a street dog. I was trying to pick up an order for Uber eats and since I arrived at the restaurant she started screaming at me. I had to cancel the order with the costumer because of her. I felt offended and discriminated. My finances were also affected because I could not complete the delivery. I don’t know if the owners know the very bad customer service and bad experience this Night Shift is offering to the customers. My recommendation is not go to this Checker restaurant until management get the whole shift fired. They are not working efficiently and they are mistreating the customers. Employees are the first contact with the customer. If those employees are not as good as they should, the quality of service and food will be affected. I don't know if I'm going to eat here again. smh I love some checkers fries and burgers, but the attitude is crazy, I get it not a lot of people work in fast food so I get that. The real issue I have with this is the water that my friend asked for. The woman with her attitude about saying they charge for the cup to get tap water I think he paid 2.99 or something I don't remember and then when he was finished with his water ask for a refill and they charged him again for water.smh. I told my friend we needed to bring our cup because if not they would charge you for everything and that's not cool. Will I stop eating here maybe, all it takes is that one person to give me attitude and I will no longer eat there. If you don't like where you work please leave and give people chance to be happy.
