JUNE 2020 Little mom and pop shop nestled in University Ave. Palo Alto... My son was fasting for some necessary lab work that morning and craving something salty, tasty and satisfying for afterwards. We Yelped breakfast foods nearby and first thing that popped up was...... New York New York Sandwiches. A hop, skip and jump from Stanford Hospital. NY NY Sandwiches was on point! Two bagel sandwiches, a burrito with some incredible Sun Dried Tomatoes included., and two espressos later... We're on cloud 9! Highly recommended! .. .. .. UPDATE SEPT 2021 .. .. I MUST update my review! Sticking with the same well deserved 5 Star rating but giving the owner, Jim, special thanks for those coffees, bagels and sandwiches he would prepare for me on my way to work. Thanks Jim for the boost of caffeine and delicious New York style breakfasts to get me through the day! Always a friendly attitude and swift service. New York bagels has been satisfying locals for over 15 years and hopefully many more...

Very small sandwich shop. Typical bagel cafe offerings; bagels, cream cheese, sandwiches, chips, etc. My ruben was ok. The meat was warm on the outside, but cold inside. And they added mayo and mustard which I don’t recall in NY. Service was good and my sandwich came out in decent time.

The place itself is very dirty. I see why they got a 82/100 health score. Spices look dated, coffee area is caked with coffee oil and dirt, and the cream cheese is mixed with the drinks. I was craving potato salad, but it was not dated, and looked questionable. I get it’s a small space, but there needs to be better execution. Would be good if things were cleaned up, more streamlined, and remove the table inside and install counter seating instead.

Very few tables. Prices were ok. First time in my life I paid over $2 for a small bag of generic...

One of the true tests of a business is its relationship with the community. Who are the people that come in regularly and how do you treat them? This place treats them like family. While I was there, multiple people came in and the chef knew their names and what they wanted. You could tell he truly appreciated their business.

Now, onto the food: it’s great. I came here at the recommendation of a friend that they had great breakfast sandwiches and I was blown away. Everything is cooked to order right in front of you and you can taste it. My egg sausage and cheese bagel was hands down the best breakfast sandwich...
