Pepper's Mexican Grill and Cantina — Restaurant in Panama City Beach

When we arrived we were greeted by 2 friendly female employees ( 5 stars for them ) My order was: Fajita Quesadilla - meat and cheese only. The waiter appeared to write this down because I specifically asked for nothing on the side with meat and cheese only. My son said " I will have the same thing as him" Simple enough.

When the order came - they brought Chicken Quesadilla with onions and all the side stuff on the order. My son decided to go ahead and eat his and scraped off the side stuff to another plate. (not good - someone didn't pay attention) I sent mine back to be done right.

When my food came the meat was over-cooked and tasted like beef jerky and the cheese wasn't even melted. It was as if it was their first time to cook.

Here is what should have happened: The waiter should have written down the order right ( we were his only table so he shouldn't have been rushed) When the order came, again the waiter is responsible to make sure it is correct before its sent out. The food runner did not know who had what - again this is the waiters fault - he is supposed to specify who gets what so that if a runner brings the food - they know exactly where it goes. When the food came out wrong and was sent back - the manager should have come to the table to assure us that it would be corrected......he was no where to be found.

Who messed up in this situation? The Waiter, the cook and the Manager - if you keep this up - you will be out of business like every other business that has been in...

Drinks - 5/5 drinks were mixed perfectly and tasted amazing. Small warning, larger drinks so if you don't want to drink too much, stay with a small size.

Food 5/5 for taste 4/5 for price to portion size The food was absolutely delicious. I had the birria quest tacos and my girlfriend had the Carne Asada Torta. The only problem was the price to portion size with it being a bit much but over all, very reasonable.

Cleanliness 4/5 everything from the tables to the floor and the sauce holders was perfectly clean and stocked. The only problem was the mens room. Restroom need to be checked more by staff but everything else was fresh and clean.

Servers 5/5 very kind and friendly staff and servers. Double checked on food to make sure it was in stock. Nina was a wonderful help and great server. Give her our highest praise.

Dessert 5/5 we had the Tres Leche cake and it was amazing. Smooth, soft, and fluffy. Was a perfect finisher for the meal.

Overall - a wonderful experience and we will absolutely be back and hungry for more. I will be singing the praise of this...

Initially, I was seated right away, rec'd my chips & salsa & water immediately, and then waited for about 15 min before someone took my order 😕. BUT, my server Ricky made up for it. He was super nice, apologized, got my food to me immediately, and checked on me often. Helped me pick a good tequila and just provided me with great service, so my initial feelings greatly improved. The food was absolutely delicious 😋. The peppers brand reposado tequila was pretty good & the fresh salsa yummmm. I sat in a booth. It was very comfortable and also provided privacy as the booth seatbacks were very high. I'm definitely coming back, going to do the 2 for 1 happy hour that Ricky told me about and bringing my friends with me. There's so many other things on the menu that I can't wait to try. And I'm looking forward to the extra Anejo Tequila that they will have soon. They do have another location in Panama City, but this was the new location off 98 Back Beach Rd.
