My easiest review would be STAY AWAY !! Or go there if you want to punish yourself and don’t even have the slightest mercy about your own self !
But let me elaborate , this stands one of the most pathetic, painful experience in Customer Service at any Indian restaurants outside India. They not only taste your patience, but also test the rigidity of your test bud by providing most average, or perhaps below average food at exorbitant cost. Let me start with getting a table:
Stage 1 Waiting - Approx 2 hrs You have to go into your name in an iPad and stay on the waitlist and it almost took us two hours to get to the table then additional 30 minutes to get the food. Come on even school kids can arrange better coordination. I later, realize that after you complete the weight, and before you go to the table, the order is taken again (even though you are recommended to place the order on Phone). And there was only one lady taking the order again before letting you sit on the table. The process itself immensely slow took 15 minutes for them to take the order. so stage one of patient’s level checked !
Stage 2 : Food - Below Average So, finally, before we get old and die, the food starts to show up at the table on the stupid robot. And the food comes one other in a 10 minute gap. Believe me, there are much more horrible restaurants but the chicken 65 I had here needed 65 spoons and knives to cut it apart. Then it would take additional 65 teeth to chew it.. also I had never tested the most horrible Sambar ever in my life. I’m sure that even the jails must be serving better than this. I ordered the chicken curry which was half cooked and perhaps the most ridiculous sort of chicken curry I would’ve ever had. The idlis looked crazy, stale, and I couldn’t even finish one of it. And not to mention that the potions were very very small and the food was perhaps one of the worst
Stage 3 : Customer Service I went to the cashier counter and told the lady that you should have at least one more additional help because this was ridiculous. But there was not even slightest concern on their face and it clearly seemed that they don’t care as long as people were showing up.
So if you want to punish yourself, go there, but if you feel leave it mercy on yourself, then stay away from this … and yes, I will never forgive myself for going here, wasting precious time of life and immense amount of money on the food, which I threw away as it was not at...
Read moreTitle: A Taste of South India with a Side of Innovation at Divine Dosa & Biryani
My recent visit to Divine Dosa & Biryani was truly a unique experience, combining the flavors of South India with the novelty of robot service. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat.
The first thing that caught my attention was the innovative use of robots to assist with service. It was my first encounter with this technology in a restaurant, and it added a touch of futuristic charm to the dining experience. The robots were efficient and precise in delivering orders to tables, making the entire process fascinating to watch.
Now, onto the star of the show – the food. Divine Dosa & Biryani did not disappoint in the taste department. The flavors of South Indian cuisine shone through in every dish I tried. Whether it was the crispy dosas or the aromatic biryanis, each bite transported me to the vibrant streets of South India. The authenticity of the flavors was truly remarkable.
One of the aspects that pleasantly surprised me was the speed of service. Despite the innovative use of robots, the restaurant didn't compromise on the quality and speed of food delivery. Orders were promptly prepared and served, ensuring that diners could enjoy their meals without long waits.
Another notable feature was the ample and free parking available. In a bustling city, finding parking can often be a challenge, but Divine Dosa & Biryani seemed to have this aspect well-covered, making the visit hassle-free.
In conclusion, Divine Dosa & Biryani offers a delightful combination of traditional South Indian flavors and modern innovation. Whether you're a fan of this cuisine or curious to try it for the first time, this restaurant is a must-visit. The unique robot service, coupled with the delicious food and convenient parking, make it a standout dining destination. I left with a satisfied palate and a sense of wonder at the seamless fusion of tradition...
Read moreThis Indian restaurant is a standout among all others in LV because they make both Northern and South Indian cuisine. And they do it damn well, too! As the name says, they specialize in Dosas, a mainstay of the South Indian diet. For the uninitiated, the dosa is a large crepe, made from a batter of fermented rice and lentils. Served inside the folded crepe is the masala, which is made from potatoes, onions, spices and maybe some cashews or other regional ingredients. It’s lightly spiced, not hot and fiery. It’s eaten as a snack or breakfast. The batter is also used to make menu vada which is deep fried and shaped like a chubby doughnut with herbs and spices. The steamed batter makes Idili (or idily), a flying saucer shaped cake served in pairs along with two types of chutney and “sambar”, a delicious sauce/soup/daal gravy made with tomatoes, lentils, spices and herbs. This place does a nice job on the North Indian dishes on offer such as Biryani, curries, etc. The reason I’m excited about the southern dishes is that they are not available elsewhere (that I know of) in Vegas (and not as common throughout the USA), where one can get decent N. Indian cuisine in a number of establishments. The room itself is clean and comfortable with a cricket game on the large screen (no sound) and timely service from a cute robot or gracious human. There’s a huge menu on the wall where you walk in, pay, and get assigned a table. The chai tea is authentic spiced Indian milk tea served piping hot in a cardboard hot beverage cup. It’s invigorating, energizing, and delicious! As you may deduce, I love this place! It’s situated in the Gold Key Mall, an eclectic group of businesses including a number of ‘ethnic’ restaurants on the Las Vegas strip (north) between the Encore and Fontainbleau hotel/casinos. Either casino is within walking distance, as well as the Venitian, Pallazo,...
