I’m all about the AYCE sushi but finding a place that offers quality fresh fish, good/fast service, as well the right price, is very hard. I am proud to say I found a winner. Found Sushi Alaska on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Like all AYCE sushi joints, they have their rules (no sharing, no wasting rice, etc.) which I totally respect. There are no limits to how many rolls/pieces you can order at one time, so our first initial order, we ordered five EACH, then as we were getting full, we did 2-3 items.

Service – excellent service, but I have to say we did arrive when it first opened; we were the first ones there. We spent about 70 min there (90 is the max) and three other parties came in. it was not crowded so that was good, but we also came for lunch. I suspect dinner would draw in a bigger crowd. The chef who I think might also be the owner (?) served us until his staff arrived. Everyone was great.

Food – quality is excellent. Fish was tasty, didn’t smell and I have to say portion was perfect. The rolls are skinny and taller, vs round and plump, which I appreciate bc it’s easier to eat. I didn’t think they used much rice which is good. I felt fulfilled when I left, and not bc of the excess rice. They offer soooo much on the menu and everything is AYCE except for the sashimi. They also have specialty items that you can order like ceviche, but you can only order once. Overall, a good selection. The one thing I noticed is when ordering the handroll, the fish goes deep into the end of the roll. Most handrolls at other places, they just have it at the beginning and then the rest is filled with rice. Not here. Their handrolls are EXCELLENT.

Extra notes:

We stayed at Paris Hotel on the strip and this sushi restaurant was 3 miles away and about 10 min. An uber at 11:30am was about $18. The uber ride home was $9. If you factor that into the cost of the meal, it was still worth it; BTW, lunch was $24.99? That was $38 per person (just two in my group) but when we eat a la carte, we rack up and easy $50-60 pp. So it was worth the uber + lunch costs.

If you prefer to drive, they have a huge stand-alone parking lot; you will not have a hard time parking.

I would definitely come back again. Loved...

When we first got here, there were only a few customers, and one full party table. There was only one server, but the food was coming pretty fast, at first. The salmon skin salad is not crispy, but it is very good. The entire place is lined with TVs on the walls and Playboy logo decorations. Modern R&B music is playing, but 20 songs on a loop can get annoying after a while. The menu includes skewers, and they are good. The garlic edamame was a little bit undercooked. Their calamari tempura plate included both large tempura legs and small fried squid. People were regularly coming in, but there was still just one server and one sushi chef. Service started to significantly slow down. The miso soup was very good, but had no tofu. Surprisingly, there was no tuna on the rainbow roll, either. Although half rolls are available, we were told because it's crowded, they can't make half rolls today. I'm not sure how that makes any sense, but that's what she said. The lobster ball filling is mostly "krab," with a little bit of langostino in there; but it was still pretty good, especially with the coconut sauce. A sign outside stated free beer with an AYCE meal, so I we took them up on that, a Sapporo. Our server is wearing a chin diaper. Her mouth and nose are 100% exposed. Why even bother? Either properly wear your mask, or just take it off, please don't pretend. This place got about 3/4 full while we were there, and with only one server, she was running around like crazy. It's not fair to the server. It's not fair to the customers. With food that is this good, and them getting this much business, they really should have at least one more server and one more sushi chef. The staff was becoming quite overworked. The server kept asking us to wait before we ordered more. But, we were also told to hurry up. This was getting very aggravating. Although the food was excellent, the service leaves much to be desired. The server said this is not usual, that somebody called in sick. We had been told both to hurry up and to wait several times, making this visit very stressful and uncomfortable. I will be back for the food, but I won't sit down unless I see more than one server in there. If not for the service,...

I have been eating sushi for over 20 years and have easily had sushi at over 500 restaurants around the world. I cannot tell you the last time I had sushi that instantly made me feel regret.

I understand that this is an all you can eat place and you can't expect to be blown away, but this place was so bad, I didn't even want to get my money's worth.

The smell inside was a rotten smell, I chalked it up to being an old building and could have gotten around it, but the quality of the fish and the sushi rice was beyond horrible.

Nigiri is basically 2 ingredients, rice and fish. Your fish is limited by the quality you buy. Here not only was the fish lacking in quality but the temperature of the fish was warmer than room temperature and gave the fish a really nasty texture, almost as if it had been heated up. The rice was not well seasoned and was mushy, almost as if it was made in a microwave and there was no vinegar in it. I had about about 5 pieces before I just couldn't stomach the flavor and mouthfeel anymore.

I then decided to try a roll and some fried items. If I am being honest, the fried items and the roll weren't that bad, in fact if you went here just for those, you would probably leave content to happy. But if you like nigiri, and the taste of the fish, and you are expecting good sushi, I would highly advise staying away from this place.

To add insult to injury, a gentlemen near me got up and ran out of the restaurant right as I was about to get up. When I got outside, he was hunched over vomiting. I said "I think I'm going to do the same thing." He responded with "this has never happened before." So, I am not sure if I was just there on a bad day and a refrigerator was broken or something, but I can tell you that I will never go back.

Easily the worst sushi and sushi experience I have had that I can...

This is a hidden gem in Las Vegas!! Best AYCE in Vegas. This place is seriously delicious!! The nigiri is super fresh!! The salmon is so good here!! They have rolls with excellent flavor profiles! Some surprises were the Vegas Dream with banana. So amazing! It's the perfect way to end the meal. It's somewhat dessert-like which I loved! The Mexican Tempura roll was also a shocker! So delicious! I'm not usually one to get deep fried rolls so that was a pleasant surprise too! I also enjoyed a sushi flower with a cucumber wrap instead of rice and an Alaska Roll. I loved the Jalapeno Bomb. My friend said, and I agree, this is the best appetizer anywhere. That's a must try. Next time you want amazing sushi give this place a try! The staff is very friendly! Our waitress always remembers our drink orders. We look forward to going back!
