Tiabi Coffee & Waffle — Restaurant in Paradise

I ran across this little spot while on a job. I had a small brake and used maps to search for breakfast. Really cool little spot tucked into a shopping center that you wouldn't expect a breakfast spot. The space was done really well, clean and works great for a boutique breakfast spot. I had a caramel macchiato, it was fantastic! Very, very smooth creamy texture and the flavor was perfect; not too sweet and you can tell you the coffee is high end. For breakfast I tried the strawberry kisses waffle. Great presentation, but I was a little disappointed with a waffle. The waffle itself was over cooked, dry, and crunchy. It gave the waffle itself a almost burnt flavor that seems to overpower the rest of the plate. This is a waffle that has strawberries, whip, cream, and chocolate drizzle. The texture of the waffle was so well done that dried it up removing the fluffy center that a waffle normally has and cutting it was more difficult than it should be. The waffle is a standard size waffle from a waffle maker. It was delivered it on a plate that was slightly larger than the waffle itself, when you take that combination and overcook the waffle it makes it difficult to cut you end up making a big mess. It is difficult trying to cut without having it fly off the plate or snap apart and send the pieces off the plate.

Would I recommend this breakfast spot? For the coffee, absolutely! When it comes to breakfast, not sure yet. I feel I need to give them another chance. It seems fairly busy, continuous customers coming in and out and from looking at others plates, I saw, my waffle was definitely more well done the rest. I saw others were able to folders. I need it like a sandwich, all I had would not fold, it would crumble if you tried to bend it. I feel that their breakfast would be amazing and I just happen to catch them at a bad time. Either they were busy or lost track of time while cooking my waffle.

I gave a four star rating for service because the customer walks up to the counter to order and then they give you a number so that you can pick your meal up but when they call out the order they don't call out the number. I am not the type of person who loves to right bad reviews, however this use to be one of my favorite spots. I was faithful when it was just up and coming but I have moved to the other side of town. The people were friendly and eager to provide excellent customer service. Coming from someone who loves small quaint places, I have to say the quality has diminished a bit. The order wasn't quite right and when I spoke to the manager I got a clear picture that customer service may not be on the top of the list anymore. To be fair, I am confined to a hospital bed and it could have been very busy. So I was not speaking to this person face to face. He never took my name nor did he ask for my number. He also said it was a pickup (but it was ordered in house to go) and never asked if I paid with a card. I do know that if anyone including this manager paid to modify an order they would want compensation. It just so happened that I am confined to a hospital bed and before my best friend went to work, I was brought one of my favorite foods here in Las Vegas. I pray this review will help the staff get it together. It's just the little things that make a great business stand out. Loosing the personal touch that make you stand out as a waffle house could be the very thing to make you the same as everone else. All the things I loved about this place was not seen today. I just really want my waffle house back!

Reponse to the resonse: to clarify how the order was recieved my best friend went in house called me and we ordered together. I was on the phone the whole time and could hear the interactions. No third party or online order. Rather the third party was a person standing in my behalf because I was bound to a bed. I'm sure not all of your staff wouldn't have the compassion to care to remember. Because she told the cashier she was ordering for me and she could hear what I order. She was patient with my order and friendly. But your Manager on the other hand wasn't...

This place is very mid. Like Starbucks but with less salt and espresso.

Ordered the bacon egg n cheese waffle sandwich, no flavor. Tried to add butter and syrup and it was questionable. I was served a waffle that was sitting out in the open instead of being given a made to order waffle. It was not that great, kind of like a buffet style waffle.

The iced latte was lukewarm, and had two shots of espresso to what seemed like a 20-24oz drink. It was not very good and I didn’t finish it.

I regret the decision to come here and get breakfast. I’d look around or prepare for just okay food and drinks. For the people who go to bat for this place, go out a little more. Experience life. Or at least try better food.

REPLY TO OWNER Hi, thanks for the reply. The waffles were sitting behind the waffle irons, on top of a steel box thing. I’m not sure what it is, maybe a toaster? It most definitely was not on a basket or under a heating lamp which would be ideal to keep it warm. I think the person who was cooking them (shorter gentleman, I almost remember him having a beard?), might be someone to check in with about their work ethic.

I don’t know if there is a smaller drink, but the 20-24oz size made the drink taste like lukewarm, milky coffee. Maybe there is a smaller size that can be the default that won’t sacrifice quality, but drink preference is subjective so if it works then it’s just me (and a few other reviewers).

It seems that the quality isn’t the sharpest lately based on some recent reviews, but perhaps everything is better during a rush when the waffles are more fresh.

I didn’t want to waste your food by asking to change my waffle sandwich out, I hoped it would grow on me but ultimately it didn’t and I had eaten enough food.

It seems your locations pallet is catered to regulars and they love it, so good for you. Just was not for me personally.
