Located inside the Garden State Plaza food court in Paramus, this establishment is a very casual, no-frills eatery that was open on Sundays for lunch.
Dumplings Cafe features Japanese cuisine with the star of the show being handmade dumplings. In Chinese culture, dumplings are more than just a versatile food item. They signify comfort, hope, and prosperity. They also have various Asian-style soups, from ramen, Taiwanese, Hong Kong, and Vietnamese, for those cold days.
I decided on the Pork and Shrimp Wonton Noodle soup (Hong Kong style). The meal was packaged for takeout, where the noodles were separated from the broth, bok choy, and wontons.
The soup was super rich, milky broth, filled with a couple of wontons, bok choy, and the noodles had a lovely chew. All of their dishes were made with only the freshest of ingredients of the highest quality to achieve the best flavors and presentation.

I was really excited for them to open. I didn't know today was their opening day, or I would have waited. They are not ready for prime time...
Order took a long time, and they got 1 order wrong.
Pan Fried Pork and Chive Dumpling - they charge $1 for pan frying but forgot to pan fry my order... and they didn't provide any sauce, but it was tasty.
Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao - no soup inside... dude told me I was thinking about Soup dumpling... 🤨🤔 I just can't... these were meh. Also no sauce

Returned on a quieter weekday and not much better…. Still long wait, but it annoys me that my order came out 1 at a time, instead of together.
Shrimp Dumplings were good but the skin is so THICK!
Pork Buns were the same inside as the Xiao Long Bao…

Read moreI went to visit this spot on Saturday and ordered a bento box that took over 35 minutes to prepare and had to ask for a refund. Literally gave them another try today and reordered the bento box, came out quicker this time. I asked on Friday what do they stuff their dumplings with and I was told vegetables. When I bit into it today it was pork and chives. It does not state what type of dumplings are served with their bento boxes and for religious reasons I do not eat pork. I went back immediately and told the person who took my order and he told me that the vegetable dumplings do not come with the bento box and told me to just order another bento box and add the dumplings extra.
