Semi-copied/edited version of my yelp review:
Surprised to see any bad reviews. I've been going with my husband to the Fort Lee location almost as long as it's been open and couldn't be more thrilled this location opened up close to home!
The food is consistently good, just as with their Fort Lee location - sushi is fresh every time (never fishy!), the tezu in the rice is on point, and I love their Wasabi.
Service is perfect. Dont listen to negative reviews regarding no one comes to the table. There is literally a screen over each table, where you can press a button for someone to come to your table if you need something. Those other reviewers probably weren't aware!
To anyone who hasn't been here, there are ample choice to pick from on the conveyor belt that move around non stop and always get refilled in the kitchen as the belt moves, but you can also order items directly on the screen, including soups and French fries, etc. These arrive directly at your table on a different conveyor belt. As you finish your plates you insert the empty white ones into a slot in the table. When you get to 15 plates, you get a prize capsule from the top. Lots of fun!
If you have the Kura app, you rack up points and I frequently get $5 coupons, which is really nice considering I'm pretty obsessed with this place :) They often have giveaways (limited time things like towels or blankets or extra coupons if you go x times a month or spend over x dollars before taxes or after coupons, too.
My 2.5 year old loves coming here and inserting the plates. He always enjoys the avocado hand roll and the tamago (egg sushi / egg over rice). I recently let him take a plate all on his own from the moving conveyor and he was GLOWING he was so happy!
Shoutout to Emma the assistant manager who my son loves. Also a shoutout to Dana who is an absolute GEM.
Lastly, more for the restaurant than people on Google - please don't ever take away the spicy crunchy salmon roll. Better yet, PLEASE bring back the spicy crunchy salmon hand roll. It was my whole family's (literally mine, my brothers and my parents') favorite and the only hand roll (other than the avocado) that I would order. A small request from one of your...

Special thanks to Rion and Shaimus who makes first-timers feel like regulars.
Parents will also appreciate how child-friendly the atmosphere is. Read moreThis was our first time coming to this Kura location. We've gone to the one in Fort Lee multiple times and always enjoy the food, so we decided to try this one—especially because parking here is conveniently located in a garage and it was a rainy day.
We were seated almost immediately by a very kind and friendly hostess, which was a great start. We've always liked the food—delicious rolls and tasty cooked items like udon, gyoza, and edamame. We’re also big fans of the desserts: cheesecake, mochi, taiyaki bowls, and watermelon. The kids love the little prize machine after finishing a certain number of plates, which always makes the visit extra fun. So as far as food goes, no complaints at all—we genuinely enjoy it every time.
The issue, unfortunately, was the service. Aside from the lovely hostess, the rest of the staff seemed like they didn’t really want to be there. When we called for assistance, our server appeared annoyed, even shaking her head as she walked away. This was confusing, especially since most of the process is self-serve—the sushi comes from the belt, ordering is done through a screen or our phones, and drinks are delivered by a robot.
Our assigned server only came by once to clear some dishes and trash, and even then, her attitude felt cold. At one point, we thought we had ordered drinks but realized we hadn’t. When we mentioned it to her, she spoke in a monotone voice, didn’t smile, and made us feel uncomfortable for even asking. It felt unnecessarily harsh. Our server was a woman with blonde highlights, brown roots, and very curly hair—she stood out, and unfortunately not in a good way. (If you can't do your job with very minimal interaction with customers, then I'm not sure what your goal is). Honestly, it left us feeling hesitant about returning to this location.
Unless the service improves—especially from this particular server—we’ll stick with the Fort Lee location, where we’ve always had a more...
