The best way to judge a business is not by usual and customary business... in fact, the best way is to judge by how a business handles adverse situations or mistakes... and more so how they make it right! It's advertised all over the building and the website "made to order," which to me means they will make your food exactly the way you want it! In my case, the adverse sinario was I ordered the club sandwich, the large mac-n-cheese, as well as the strawberry jar dessert. I requested bacon on the mac-n-cheese, and the person running the register said, "Sorry, we can't do that." I was disappointed but moved on. Later in the month I ordered the exact same order, other than I asked for added bacon on the sandwich figuring I could take the extra bacon off the sandwich and put it on the mac-n-cheese, and this time the order was for pick up. When I got home and opened the bag... there was zero bacon. Obviously, I called in, and someone kept answering but not responding with a hello or anything. It was just kitchen noises. I had to call back 3 times before someone actually said, "Hello." Once I finally got someone on the phone, his name was Nate, I explained all of my experiences and my frustration and Nate took the proverbial "bull by the horns" and quickly made the situation right! Thank you Nate, you single handedly reversed my opinion of Slim Chicken's and not only that, but I would be will to say that the Parker Slim chicken's is the best location in the state as well as the best "fast food" restaurant in Parker as a whole! Next time you're in the area, you should stop by and check the restaurant out, ask for Nate, and let him know Matt sent you! Good luck, foodies, and occasional restaurant...
Read moreGreat food, fast, for a great price! I hadn't even finished putting my credit card away before someone came out of the kitchen with my meal. Granted, this was lunchtime on a Tuesday, but still! I ordered a 5 chicken tender meal with coleslaw instead of fries (no extra charge, nice) and a strawberry cheesecake jar dessert. I've eaten a lot of chicken tenders in my time and these were some of the best. Juicy, flavorful meat that was obviously marinated in something tasty. Thin, crisp, well-seasoned breading.
And the sauces! There's a sauce for everyone here. I opted for the Cayenne Ranch and Korean BBQ. The ranch was good but barely had any heat. I could taste the cayenne if I focused, but don't expect it to be very strong. The Korean BBQ was delicious though! Savory, spicy, tangy, and not overly sweet. The coleslaw tasted fresh and again, not overly sweet. It's more of a savory kind of coleslaw that depends on the cabbage for sweetness. I liked it, but next time I'll probably add a little hot sauce because I'm weird like that.
The cheesecake was the perfect way to finish my meal. It's a mason jar full of little cheesecake bites, sliced fresh strawberries, and Cool Whip. I was pleasantly surprised that they managed to find ripe strawberries somewhere, they can be pretty hit or miss at the grocery store. And you get to keep the jar when you're done!
The restaurant was clean and well lit, including the bathroom. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We even had an older guy, maybe the manager or franchise owner, come over to ask us how our food was.
I would definitely come back here for...
Read moreWent in to Slim Chickens for dinner tonight on a Sunday (11/2/24.) I am shocked how far the restaurant has declined since they opened. They Haven't even been open a year. I like certain things with Slims over Raising Canes like sides (like Mac and Cheese), desserts, sauces and the chicken being as good as Raising Canes. Not anymore, at least at the Parker location. Chicken breading wasn't very thick or tasty. The strips were tiny. Half the size of Canes strips. They were out of Mac and cheese. They got rid of the best sauce they had Garlic Siracha. I tried to salvage my experience by getting a Strawberry shake and even that didn't taste that great. Like it was lacking the strawberry part and it was mostly vanilla. I really don't like negative reviews and prefer to give praise because a place is killing it. I have had Slims when they have been great and when the food is worth the price. This place has lost that. I will be going to Canes from now on where the strips are amazing and their bread is mouth watering. Such a shame. Whomever is running this place has no concept of quality control. I'll give an extra star because the lobby didn't seem dirty and I didn't do my normal bathroom visit. So I will assume it was. Sorry Slims I hate to see you go down so quick. I heard a rumor that they sold to another group after they opened. It's possible the new owners changed the ingredients and food supply chain to be different. If that's the case, wow they are...
