I agree with Susan.... waitress was pretty bad with dropping stuff and tearing off before making sure everyone had what they needed.
We were sitting on the back patio and had to go inside 5-6 times throughout the 2 hours that we were there. (we once tried asking the only waitress that was outside for a few things that we wanted but couldn't get before our waitress bolted, and she turned around with a lil attitude and said, "well, who is your waitress?" in an annoyed tone. We said, "we don't know because she never introduced herself" (but it is the only other waitress that was working the patio.) Seems as if she should have an idea who she was working with for the past 2 hours?
but that wasn't the worst of it....
Then it got really bad/weird... a 3rd unknown waitress to any of us comes out AFTER we had all closed out our 4 tabs and were just kind of chit-chatting, and storms into the middle of our 2 small groups and says in a very loud/rude tone of voice "SO.. WHAT's GOING ON!"?
We all stopped our conversations and looked at each other to see if anyone knew who this person was... no one knew, so we said "Nothing much, just chatting", what's up?" and she goes
"WHY DON'T YOU TELL ME!?" (again, very loud and very rude, clearly disturbed about something) We repeated ourselves again and said... "nothing much, can we help you? Is there something that you'd like to tell us?"
She responds with YELLING " I HEARD THAT YOU GUYS HAD A PROBLEM WITH YOUR SERVER AND THAT SOMEONE RIPPED UP THEIR TAB AND THROUGH IT IN HER FACE!"
To which every single one of us reached in our pockets and showed her our receipts and said, "we think you musty have the wrong table",
to which she replied, "OH, DO I!? DO I REALLY?
and we said "apparently" and one guy in our group said, "Do you see any pieces of paper on the ground around our table/area?" (which was a great point as there was nothing on the ground)
to which she stormed off and didn't say a word. No apology, no "hmm.. maybe I got the wrong table", or "let me check with your server and see whats going on", etc.
So, 3 of the 5-6 of us immediately left our drinks and just walked to our cars and left.
One of our friends went in and talked to the manager/owner becasue he was offended and the manager/owner apparently sided with the gal who was causing the commotion? I want to say her name was Michelle?
I get backing your employees if a customer is acting out of line, but that clearly wasn't the case here and under no circumstances is it ok for a 3rd party to come over and start huffing and puffing all over us when not one of us did anything that she was accusing us of?
I asked her why when this person ripped the tab up and threw it in the waitresses face, why she didn't take action at that moment and get the manager or security involved and have that person removed on the spot?
No answer... just more attitude and mouth. We went somewhere after and heard that this girl is apparently well known for creating problems over there... our only question was why us? She clearly got her wires crossed but was too emotional and rude/stupid to realize and apologize.
We put up with the mediocre and overpriced food, but being mistreated for no reason and then having the manager back someone who clearly had no clue what she was talking about is inexcusable.
Fortunately for us, there are lots of places in Parker that treat their customers with respect. Bye...
Read moreI am not entirely sure how this place has such high-starred reviews. My friend and I stopped in here on Sunday afternoon so she could check the place out after having read the reviews online. She was looking for a place where a group she belongs to could meet for drinks and pool once a week, but as soon as we walked in the door both of us felt like the entire place held ambient hostility. At first I thought it was just me, but she brought ti up as we walked around and checked out the deck.
As we came counter-clockwise around the bar a group of guys were playing some game in the corner. Someone won, or lost, we really don't know, and they all went wild, jumping up and down and slamming into each other like a mosh pit. We decided to walk back around the bar in the other direction.
The pool tables were in poor repair - as in, not good enough for league use - and it seemed that most o the customers were collected around the first twenty feet of entrance to the bar giving it a "running the gauntlet" sort of feel to enter or exit the place.
And I have to question the customer-base, too. I'm a motorcycle rider and yet, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out why these two guys on Harleys had to park in the middle of the lot. Not in parking spaces; not in motorcycle parking, but out in the middle of the lot. It made absolutely no sense. Then we noticed the plethora of large trucks whose drivers could not park inside the lines. Yes, the giant trucks were each taking up two spots, or rather one and enough of the next that nothing but a Smart Car was going to fit in the other one.
Regardless, I wouldn't feel comfortable parking my own vehicle in a lot with people who can't park their own, nor do I feel comfortable around bikers who don't feel the rules apply to them. Those are the kinds of places where hostility breeds from individual righteousness.
But, apparently others don't feel the same. YMMV.
We had a much more welcoming experience up Parker Rd. at FunUGyz.
No photos were taken. While the bar itself didn't seem to bad, the people there made it feel...
Read moreEDIT: Thank you for your response below, Jeff. It's most appreciated! We were given this information by both Kayla and Candice. Even David was told the same thing, so it appears there has been a disconnect somewhere. Again, thanks so much for the clarification! The 2 stars aren't for the food, beer selection or the service. Those are all great. No, they are aimed directly at 20 Mile's management and a policy change that seems to target some of their most loyal customers.
20 Mile hosts Trivia (put on by Shindig DJ's, they're great!) every Tuesday. Friends and I have been going to this game for years. We represent multiple households, as most teams that play Trivia do. We have a meal, drink a few beers and play Trivia. Our team alone typically spends $150 - $200 weekly at 20 Mile. There are prizes to be won - certificates for free pitchers of beer, as well as $30/$20/$10 in bar cash to the top three finishers.
Historically, a team could take their bar cash and apply it to the next week's meal, dividing that amount equally among however many checks might be represented at that table. As of last week however, we were told that the bar cash could not be split out among the team members, it has to be applied to a single check. This makes no sense. Whether $30 in bar cash is taken off one check or divided so that $15 is taken off two, it's still $30 to the bar. The customers however, are very much inconvenienced by this change.
Since COVID restrictions were lifted, 20 Mile has been packed most every Tuesday with teams playing trivia. One would think they'd appreciate our continued patronage, but apparently that's simply not the case. It's seems it's time to look for a venue that does actually want...
