Firstly, and the reason I will likely return, the bagels are AMAZING. So chewy and not overbaked. The cream cheese was also great. I also thought prices were very fair.
Unfortunately my first visit here this morning wasn't great from the policy and customer service standpoint. There were no less than 12 people working. The lady in front of me placed a large order of 18 bagels and several cream cheeses. I ordered right after her and just got a simple bagel with cream cheese. The employees clearly have strict defined roles. The slicer only sliced, the cream cheese girl only packed cream cheese, etc. This led to me and the other customers standing there waiting while the slicer and one poor girl who packs everything up processed the huge order. The whole time, the other 10 employees (including what looked like corporate types standing in the back) stood around and watched. I was annoyed as I stood there seeing my cream cheese ready to go but it took at least another five minutes for the two employees to finish the big order and get to mine. Not efficient and a waste of time.
Also, their policy is to not put your cream cheese on your bagel. Instead, they give it to you in a cup with a knife. Unfortunately I don't want to sit in my car spreading cream cheese in the parking lot before I go on my way to work. Because of this I doubt I will be stopping at Jeff's during the week. It's a time waster and a policy they should consider changing.
I know that they just opened and a lot of this can be worked out easily. I definitely plan to try them again and I can see Jeff's being a popular place for my family on weekends. They just aren't a good spot to "run" in for a quick bagel during the busy weekday mornings.
I will say that the employees were all very nice and sweet and helpful. They are just limited by the policies and procedures in place. This review shouldn't reflect negatively on any of...
Read moreWow. I’ll start with that. 1st off can I say the location is perfect, granted there is a Dunkin next door BUT Bagels at Dunkin, No Thanks. This place specializes in Bagels🥯 so you know they know what their doing. Today was their “soft opening” and I was only coming to the place to get coffee from Dunkin, and to my surprise I see people from inside waving me in! Not to mention the parking lot was packed. So I decided why not, I’ve been waiting for this place to open because my family and I are HUGE bagel fans. They have a nice list of flavors, and different cream cheeses and spreads. Even Lox. I got a garlic bagel with regular cream cheese. And 3 plain Seseme bagels which I like to freeze and use during the week for the kids. The bagels are very plump, plenty of bread, so they are filling. Yet they are airy and light. Plenty of toasted garlic pieces on the outside. The cream cheese came on the side, now I’m not sure if that’s standard, but I like that, instead of someone putting way too much or way to little on my bagels each time. This gives you the choice. The cream cheese is nice and creamy, dense and not fluffy like whipped. It tasted great. I also got a small coffee, which was more like a medium. Coffee was a nice medium blend, not burnt or light, just perfect. They have all the sugars and cream on the side for you to do yourself! I also got a magnet and a FREE bagel for my next visit. Which I will be using in the very near future. Oh and please let me say the staff was helpful and kind, always smiling. That’s a huge plus, as you want to order from someone who actually likes their job and is happy to help a customer. Overall I think this establishment is awesome and I believe it will do very well in this neighborhood and people will appreciate what it...
Read moreFor those considering coming here…change your perspective. This isn’t a regular bagel shop. They don’t toast your bagels, they aren’t crispy like a gold standard NYC bagel, there is no tuna or lox and they don’t sell spreads in pounds, but three sizes. What they do offer is flavorful fluffy bagels with amazing cream cheese spreads. I wouldn’t come here for the plain bagel unless you love fluffy bagels or want to try some of the amazing cream cheese spreads. This isn’t the place I would go for a plain bagel with butter. The star of the show is Jalapeño Cheddar bagel; as well as the roasted jalapeño cream cheese. We also enjoyed the Asiago bagel, but I would pass on the Cacio e Pepe(too salty and cheese fell off crust while eating).
Service was friendly, but you do have to wait awhile as the bagels come out fresh. I waited around 5 minutes on line and then another 10 for my order to be ready; so if you are in a rush, plan accordingly.
I wasn’t able to try the iced coffee, but it looked very good. They also have other flavors like a flavor of the week(or month?) and yesterday it was Banana Bread, but I passed on it as I don’t like...
