JUST BAKED DOWNTOWN — Restaurant in Paso Robles

I had such a wonderful experience working with Just Baked at a recent wedding of mine. It was about 100 degrees and Just Baked went above and beyond to ensure their desserts were perfect. That included coming to the wedding venue three times! Once to drop of display items, once to drop off and set up desserts and once to pick up display items. Oh, and don’t let me fail to mention, that when they came to deliver the desserts it was 8:00pm. And so the winery gate was closed and there is zero cell coverage. 😱🤦🏼‍♀️ Just Baked jumped the gate, yes, you read correctly, and ran almost two miles until they found an intercom and was able to call the site manager. I’ll repeat, they jumped a full sized gate and ran 2 miles to get us the desserts!!! 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️ All that, and they still managed to deliver within minutes of the scheduled delivery time! Overly impressed does not begin to describe my feedback. But here is the best... The Monday after the wedding, I asked our bride, Ally, if there was anything she would have done differently. Her only regret, was that she and her Groom did not get a cupcake! (Don’t worry, I saved the entire top tier of the wedding cake for them.) Normally I pack up quite a few leftover desserts. Not this time. Every single cupcake was devoured by our guests. (And trust me, there were plenty ordered for our guest count.) They just loved them that much! Absolutely gorgeous and delicious!

Both my parents are former bakers, my dad apprenticed in bakeries in Washington while my mom learned from the navy vets running the cal poly bakery.

They were both impressed with the quality construction, decoration and balance of good rich chocolate without being overly sweet. The real frosting is spread carefully and consistently, the quality baked crumb had even rise, meaning no need for the thick leveling frosting you find in grocery store quality cakes.

Mom pointed out that the size and decorative quality of the 6" double layer cake was that of the top tier of a wedding cake.

Absolutely will be getting cakes from them again, and my parents plan to visit for a breakfast pastry. The perfect conclusion to my dad's birthday dinner

I forgot to mention: this was an a cake off the shelf, not a special order. (If I were to render ANY criticism it's that the options were limited, but I immediately counter that because they had exactly what I wanted and in ample supply, I hope they rotate that stock so I can try more varieties, I'm particularly interested in the carrot cake) To me having a cake decorated so beautifully available for walk-in customers is extremely impressive and speaks to...

This was our second visit to this bakery, and just like the first time, it completely exceeded our expectations—both in flavor and customer service. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and informed that their electronic payment system was temporarily down, and they were only able to accept cash. Fortunately, that wasn’t an issue for us, and we went ahead with our order.

As we were preparing to pay, Libby, one of the staff members, offered a sincere apology for the inconvenience. She was incredibly kind and understanding, acknowledging the situation and going out of her way to ensure we still had a positive experience. To our surprise, she quickly calculated our total and only charged us $20 for an order that should have been close to $40. It was such a generous and unexpected gesture that really spoke volumes about the bakery’s commitment to customer satisfaction and community goodwill. She said it was our lucky and and we left extremely happy and excited to eat our treats.
