I came here on a Sunday afternoon, which I know can be busy especially with the after church crowd since a lot of other restaurants in town are closed on Sunday. We were greeted at the front and given a 30 minute wait time, so we waited outside. The restaurants decor was good, the chairs were unique and the colors where nice, decently clean. Our waitress was good, very friendly and speed was ok for the occasion. Now where is goes downhill was the food. There seems to be an extra charge to a lot of things on the menu, from ordering kids meals to specific appetizers. To start they gave us chips and salsa, we added the queso as well. The chips were severely oversalted and the dalsa tasted like canned marinara tomatoes with some jalapeño added in. We ordered the kids chicken strips and fries, the #4 tamales, taco and enchilada with rice and beans, the fajitas trio and the #27 chicken and Chiles relleno. You can smell and taste the fried foods are fried together, the chicken smelled like churros, my child didn't notice much though because she doused it in ranch. The fajitas trio had 4 shrimp 3 pieces of steak and chicken and a whole lot of sauce and onion for the lack of protein. The tamale and enchilada lacked much flavornand the taco was soggy when received. The Chiles relleno was ok, but not a traditional preparation of the dish, the chicken was way overdone and soaked in a cheese sauce. All of the dinner plates came out piping hot, but the food was just warm enough like they had microwaved everything. The rice was dry and beans didn't have any flavor. With the fajita trio it only came with tortillas, we had to ask for for guacamole and sour cream add ons. While this is not one of the worst places we have patreoned, it definitely is not one we will be back to.

Overall the restaurant is pretty clean and not overly decorated, it's simple and clean. The waitress is very nice and friendly and apologetic for the delays although I don't know why there were delays because when we got there most people were getting ready to leave. It took a while to get the chips and salsa and our drinks, but the chips and white cheese sauce was delicious. The food was tasty and the portions not very big but it was fillling nonetheless. Said on their menu that "due to increase in beef they're adding 99 cents to each beef item on the menu." I'm not quite sure what that meant so the price was a little more than I figured. Although when we got the bill, we were charged $0.99 extra even though we didn't get any beef items. our bill was actually less than we had anticipated which was nice & We gave an appropriate tip as well when we paid the bill. Overall a nice place to eat. *** Side note- I changed my rating from 4 starts down to 2 stars because 2 days later I found that they had charged me another $6.00 which I did NOT authorize. I am NOT happy about them stealing my money and will not be returning.

The place is clean and our waitress was nice. But that is the ONLY positive. The food was bland as I have ever ate. The salsa was more like tomato paste with black pepper in it. The chicken chimichanga was chuncks of plain chicken meat only. I dont think one grain of salt was used on anything. It was definitely a first/last visit for me. I'm usually a positive reviewer but this place is horrible.

Do not eat at El Pueblo in Pauls Valley, OK. This is a poor excuse for a business in every way: food, service, and atmosphere. It took over five minutes for someone to come to our table to take our drink order. We got only water and asked for a large queso. The queso resembled nothing more than a sad, congealed mess of cheap, melted cheese, microwaved to an unappetizing sludge-like consistency. And don't even get me started on the sorry excuse for salty chips that accompanied it. Upon getting our check, we discovered it was $13.95 for water and queso! When we asked about two additional 3.00 fees, we were told it was a “setup” fee. We asked if this was written anywhere, and they said it’s on the menu. Well, we did already read this. It reads: “If you do not wish to order from your menu, you can enjoy our setup of chips & salsa for $3.00.” People, tell me how this makes sense! We DID order from the menu, we ordered queso from the menu! It does not read that you must order a MEAL from the menu. This is poorly written on their part. So, they are telling me that if I just ordered queso it wouldn’t have come with chips? I would have told them I didn’t want the salsa if they didn’t bring it out first thing when they came to take my drink order. Then, we were told there was a fee to use a credit card at this establishment. It is 2024. The price of doing business includes your business paying credit card fees, not passing them onto the consumer. That said, do not eat here. The food is subpar. The service is severely lacking. You will be nickel and dimed to death by the time you are out the door for an experience you wish you never had. If I could give this place 0...
