We go to Salata at least a couple of times per week. Doing Weight Watchers, one is able to eat the endless amount of ingredients since they are zero points. It's pricey, yes. But, healthy and fresh ingredients. It makes a customer think that you can get a complete salad for $9. They will provide you double the ingredients if you ask. But, the catch comes when you are down the line and you ask for chicken, or another protein. There's a tiny sign that you can hardly read where there is an upcharge of $3 to $5, depending on which protein you choose. My rant...the service at this location is rarely good. The employees behind the counter don't appear to be happy. They're not friendly and outgoing as they are in their other locations, especially in Midtown. I have been there so many times and I've yet to receive a bowl of salad with everything I would like to have on it. There are always ingredients that they are out of: mango salad dressing, cucumbers, which by the way, are cut pretty large :-( . They're frequently out of some of the fruits, avocado, cilantro, sprouts, and croissants. I wanted some tomato basil soup yesterday but they were out. Not only was it out of soup but the container was all burnt and dried -- left as such in the serving area. When we got to the register, there was one croissant left. I asked if there were any more left and the manager, Dexter, pulls out a white bin from below with additional tough, cold, dried-up croissants. We reach the register and as I am ready to pay, my husband reminds me about a $5 gift card that Salata mailed out when we first moved into the area two months ago. I handed the cashier the coupon and she wouldn't accept it because it had recently expired. I asked her to please ask her manager since we're at one of the Salatas a couple of times per week. We also go with larger groups of friends. We love the food, don't get me wrong. It's the way they do business that I mind. Anyway, Dexter, the same manager comes and refuses to honor the $5 coupon. Ouch! I said, "Really? A die-hard customer and you're not going to make good on this?" Nope. I asked if he would at least offer me a free tea or an extra croissant, which they charge $1 for. Nope. Nada. Great that I didn't ask for the tea option because some of the ones I like were empty! lol All in all, I will definitely stop going to this location at Peachtree Corners. I called the corporate office, after seeing their response on Yelp. The district manager, Trey, called me back and all he did was listen. He said he would definitely talk to Dexter about the situation as he feels that Dexter runs a tight ship in that store. I noticed that there is a bit of turnover of employees, too. Trey told me that he, himself, had only been there about five weeks. Did I expect something? Of course, I expected him to give me a $5 voucher on my next salad. I wanted him to make good on the situation. There were about a dozen people behind me in line waiting for me to resolve this issue at the register. It was embarrassing and other customers thought it was petty that they wouldn't honor it. I will be looking for another location to go to in that area. Newk's, across the street at The Forum, is another excellent option, including table service! Although you can't make your own salad there, you can pretty much ask for anything to be added or taken out, if you so choose. Goodbye PTC location...and, Trey, disappointed that you did nothing to not lose our business. It was a...
Read moreThe manager needs a good customer service class! I ordered a small salad because the last 2times I could not finish the large one. Just before I went to pay, the manager asked me if I would like to upgrade to a large. I explained, no thank you, the large is too big I was-not able to finish it last 2 times I ordered it. . He then rudely said , well this small should be an up charge because it should not be this big. It should not br level with tbe top. I said then tell your employees not me. I did not put the ingrediants in! He said again next time this will be a large. Well gr8 because there will not be a next time. I have taken3 different people there for lunch but today was my last time. He not only was rude to me but an elderly lady could not get ice & water & she went to tell him it was empty. He yelled across the room the cup is too small! Wrong, the ice & water people is a sensor which should be labeled so people would realize it . I watched 10 people in a row not be able to figure it out . Even the friend I was with couldnt do it & she was young ! So on the way out, I asked a young man if he had any comment cards & he said he had to ask tbe manager. Well, we all know how that went. I saw the manager ask him who wanted it ! He said tell her when he got a freemiment. I was only going to make a suggestion to label water & ice “Sensor Powered” So, unfortunately, thats my last time tsking my friends their for lunch. Too bad cause the salad is so fresh & delicious with gr8 choices but management needs customer...
Read moreFeeling salad and a need to escape Dunwoody, my SO and I chose to eat at a Salata. We chose Peachtree Corners.
The lunch experience wasn't terrible, and the deli line of offerings all looked appealing, to which our salad were satisfying. (Though we could and do make better salads at home.) However, the experience for me could have been better if the restaurant appeared to be normal rather than isolating, as we were the only two people eating in -- aside from the one patron who came in for her to go order, and some other woman who had come in and loitered about.
The main issue were the mixing bowls for our salads. They are metal, and it was strange that after our salads' preparation these bowls would become our serving. My SO suggested that metal kept our salads cool, but even so, the salads should been transferred to a more aesthetically pleasing serving bowl. (Surely there are metal bowls with some air of decorum.) As it was, it seemed using the metal bowls that we were served was a shortcut on someone's part to have the establishment be efficient, including financially. Nevertheless, I was unappreciative of feeling like I was eating out of a dog bowl.
Given the atmosphere (as it was designed when we experienced Salata, with ambient lighting from outside being the restaurant's only light source--to which it was a gorgeous day), the bowls, and the air of isolation as a means of social indoctrination, I won't be eating Salata anytime soon, let alone in...
