If you're planning to visit Brunch Junction, you might want to reconsider. Beyond the façade of trendy decor and the allure of an Instagrammable meal, there's a much darker side to this establishment that customers rarely see. After hearing disturbing accounts from former employees, it’s clear that Brunch Junction is not just lacking in hospitality; it’s a toxic place both for customers and staff alike.
The Customer Experience: A Nightmare in Disguise
First, let's talk about the food. While the menu promises artisanal dishes and fresh ingredients, the reality is far from it. And the portions are inconsistent.
But the worst part?? Management’s complete lack of care or responsibility. Complaints are brushed off, and any attempt to speak to a manager is met with condescension or outright hostility. It's clear that customer satisfaction is the last thing on their minds.
Employee Treatment: A Hostile Work Environment
If you think the customer experience sounds bad, it's nothing compared to how Brunch Junction treats its employees. The turnover rate is shockingly high, and it’s easy to see why. The management fosters a culture of fear, where employees are berated for the smallest mistakes and are constantly on edge, worried about losing their jobs.
Former employees describe the work environment as abusive, with management regularly yelling at staff, publicly humiliating them, and refusing to address serious issues like harassment or unsafe working conditions. Training is almost nonexistent, and new hires are thrown into the deep end with little support. Those who try to stand up for themselves or their coworkers are quickly silenced or fired.
The servers are underappreciated, and the overall morale is dismal. It’s no surprise that so many employees leave after just a few months, with many describing their time at Brunch Junction as one of the worst experiences of their lives.
Conclusion: Avoid at All Costs
Brunch Junction may market itself as a hip, must-visit spot, but the reality is far from it. The combination of subpar food, terrible service, and horrific treatment of employees makes this one place you should avoid at all costs. Until there are significant changes in how the restaurant operates, both in terms of customer service and employee welfare, it’s not worth your time, money, or support. If I could leave 0...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE My family and I ate here after church on a Sunday. It was pretty busy wait time was about 30 minutes. When being seated the table was dirty, we had to ask someone to clean it. After that It took awhile for a server to come & greet us/take our order. My fiancé and I both got the Korean chicken and waffles. I’d rate the chicken about a 6 the waffle was good until I made it to the last section of the waffle what I assumed to be pepper in my waffle turned out to be a baby spider.
I immediately told our server but at this point my Fiance had already paid. The server took our problem to the manager on duty (Sonya). I show Sonya the picture I took and she confirms that it is a spider. She stated there was nothing they could do except offer us 50% off on our next visit. That they don’t offer refunds because they are a new business. I explain to her that I am not seeking a full refund just partial since I had ate most of the food. But now felt disgusted. I asked what would she do in this moment as I was trying to be reasonable but for me returning back for a discount was out of the question. She then insults us stated that she would not have waited to the last minute to tell someone. As if I knew my final bite would have a spider in it. Once I seen that she did not care I ask if they can’t offer a refund is there anything else they could offer a free juice, a drink anything. She tries to make it seem like she could only offer juice because customers can’t take alcohol. I finally say I’ll take a drink and sit until I finish. She walks away….not apologizing for our experience nothing. She made it seem as if she ate the spider or if I did something to her. The server comes to take the drink order and the first thing she ask is “would you like your drink to go” but I was just told I couldn’t take it to go. Luckily the bartender and our server Shaybrea was very sweet and apologized for our experience.
Overall it was a disappointing experience my family is new to Pearland and was excited to try this place. But if you visit just be cautious and...
Read moreAs a former server/employee, I can agree the food is very delicious, and I never felt that I had to leave a review about any job, but this one felt like it was needed. I can say I was very disappointed with my experience working at this establishment. I was working as a server while in school for nursing just to make a little extra cash on the side. The way management talks to the employees is very unprofessional. For example my last straw was when the owner said the servers did not have to clean restroom and that it was the managers and dishwashers responsibility. The next day the manager told one of us to do it and I politely told him that the owner told us that, that was not our job. He then said to me “don’t ever tell me what someone else told you, my boss also told me to fire you”. Which he was referring to a situation that happened in the past. As said from all managers and the owner I was one of their best servers, but one specific manager continuously made it his job to throw it in my face, that he was the reason that I did not get fired. And I can tell you this was not the only situation that has happened like this. I have worked many jobs and a couple serving jobs and I have never had to do as much work as they made us do at this job when it came to cleaning. I am not a busser . When it comes to side work, as a server we know we have to do that. But when it comes to cleaning restrooms, them yelling at us to buss tables while also trying to take care of customers, and mopping floors I feel as if they need to hire a busser because I will not be doing all of that plus more for $2.13. It was giving they didn’t want to hire any bussers because we were the busser, they just wasn’t paying us to do it. Like I said I have work multiple serving jobs and they have all pretty much had bussers. And I am not saying that there is anything wrong with being a busser but that was not in my job description...
