The whole experience was absolutely terrible, today was my first time coming here and I am NEVER coming back. From start to finish my family and I were very polite, I don’t know why everybody here as such poor mannerisms. There wasn’t any greeting at the door like how they treated the other costumers, we didn’t receive any recommendations on where to sit, my family and I chose our own spot ordered our drinks just to receive them and for the waiter to never cone back! We waited 20 minutes; our waiter just kept passing us up proceeding to treat us like we didn’t exist! Until another customer noticed how we were being treated and gained the manager’s (Juan’s) attention. He asked us for our order and made the young server write it down for us, and even offered to give us free dessert to make us feel better. Whilst doing this he stated, “I’m sorry this waiter just got here a few minutes ago.” Which we understand, but we still shouldn’t be treated with disrespect. After our orders, we waited ANOTHER TWENTY MINUTES! Just for us to watch the waiter serve another table that came in after us, treat them with respect, offer them menu recommendations, hand them their food etc. Yet just received a kids meal fish fingers for a toddler. We waited TEN MORE MINUTES then my mother and I received our food, but then, we didn’t receive enough food! The serving size was too small! We received approximately a handful of french fries, and three fish sticks with two hush puppies. We ordered a dish from the menu that was called “Fish and Chips.” my mother didn’t even eat the food. She just wanted a to go box and waited for me and the rest of my family to finish eating. However, when we asked for that to go box from our waiter, while my mom was speaking to him, he did’t let her finish her sentence and walked away while she was speaking. WE HAD TO ASK FOR OUR CHANGE. He just put it in the middle of the table and walked away. The restaurant was not even busy. There were maybe four tables they were serving at the time. We had to ask the host at the front door for a to go bag. However, the bag wasn’t like the bags others received. We got a cheap plastic bag while everybody else had a paper bag that had the logo of the restaurant on it. Upon leaving, the host sarcastically asked if we enjoyed our time. Read moreThe Fish City Grille is usually one of my husband and my top picks when we dine out, but this visit was disappointing. While the food was good, as always, there was an issue with my red beans and rice—I got a large serving of rice but barely any beans. I asked for more beans, and eventually, they brought me a small sample. The real problem, however, was the service. There were plenty of servers around, but it felt like we were completely invisible. Our waitress, Shakariah, was a nice young lady, but she wasn’t very attentive. After we were seated and placed our order, no one checked in to see if we needed water or anything else. Once our food arrived, we were still ignored. When we finally managed to get her attention to order dessert, I had to ask another server to clear our dirty plates. It took about 30 minutes for our dessert to arrive, and when it did, our waitress apologized and stated the manager complimented the dessert because of the delay. To top it off, when we went to pay, we had to flag someone else down because our waitress was nowhere to be found. I understand they might claim they were busy, but the restaurant wasn’t crowded, and even if they were, it seemed like the other servers running around could have stepped in to help instead of leaving customers feeling completely neglected. Read moreI frequently order Uber Eats from this company and sometimes get annoyed that they inconsistently decline the service when they feel like it...but still choose to order pick up from time to time. My last visit, I order a number of dishes and managed to only receive half of my meal. The order consisted of 2 fried catfish dinners with fries, fried shrimp, crab cakes, and calamari. I received 2 catfish dinners with approx. 6 waffle fries each, with wet battered fish and mushy hushpuppies, good crab cakes and well done calamari.
When I called to let them know that I did not receive my fried shrimp (not even complained about the lack of quality of the fish) I was told that I was lying & that the manager checked it before I left. What he saw was my fried calamari on top of all of the other boxes, not fried shrimp and I explained that to him, but was still called a liar. How dare you accuse a customer of lying? I get nothing out of arguing with you for 10 minutes, having to pack up my family to drive back another 10 miles to pick up food that I supposedly lie about not receiving with hungry kids screaming but at the end of the day, the food was half cooked, the service was horrible and the manager was embarrassingly ridiculous.
