Country Place Cafe — Restaurant in Pearland

My family and I decided to try this place for breakfast today. When we arrived we noticed a C rating on the front window with a handwritten note next to it from the dinner owners. The note says something along the lines of that they are working to fix the issue. We felt better about the rating after seeing their note so we decide to go in. The place is small and dark but the staff was nice so we went for it and ordered our meals. After ordering food myself and my daughter went to use the restroom and this is where I noticed the roaches. As we washed our hands I saw two roaches one medium sized and one small, we had to move our feet around so they wouldn’t get in our shoes. I thought maybe they had a plumbing issue and since we already ordered I would still try the food. Once I sat at my table my husband saw a small roach crawling up the wall next to us he killed it and we all started to debate eating there at all since we hadn’t received our food order yet. As we were discussing what to do maybe 2 minutes after seeing the first small roach a larger roach crawled up on the same wall right next to us and that was our decision maker. We got up told the person that took our order we were leaving because of the roach problem and she apologized. The problem is there are good reviews here that’s why we wanted to try this restaurant but after looking deeper into the reviews it seems they have had a roach infestation for years now and are not fixing it. We have been trying to give this place a try for months but our schedules have always been so busy. Today we finally took the opportunity to stop by and we were not disappointed.

When we arrived we saw that the space is relatively small but not the smallest I've seen. And the use of the space was efficient so that it was never too crowded or felt too busy.

Everything we ordered was quite literally the definition of homemade. You could tell that each item was made from scratch and with love. The experience took me back to my childhood when my mom would make us a good southern breakfast. The authenticity was enough to praise this place but it didn't end there.

The service we received was nothing short of top tier. From the right amount of attentiveness to the clear communication when there were any issues, we felt like our visit was just a important to the staff as it was to us. There was a slight delay in getting our food due to multiple to go orders being placed but in reality this wait was still much shorter than many chain restaurants.

For the first time in a long time we left a food establishment with NO LEFTOVERS. Every bit of food was finished and we left with full bellies and a wonderful experience.

I am so glad we were finally able to try this place and I can promise, despite this being out of the way and on the opposite side of town, we'll definitely...

Ok! So my wife and I were driven here by awesome reviews. Upon arriving we were a bit put off by the outer image of the place. Well, we decided not to judge the book by its cover and jumped right in. The place is small and it wasn’t very busy when we arrived. We sat down and immediately a nice young lady walked over to us, welcomed us and took our drink order. We proceeded to look through the menu from which we decided to order the crab cake Benedict, chicken and waffles, and chicken fried steak. Okay, I’m too lazy to get descriptive right now, but go and order these items. (Proceeds to get descriptive) The chicken with the waffles were the largest chicken tenders I have ever seen and they tasted super delicious… perfect crunch, seasoning, and moistness. And that was my wife’s plate. My chicken fried steak was pretty massive also and almost didn’t share with my wife. The crab Benedict was smoky and delicious! The young ladies running the show on this day seemed to be on point with everything, even as more and more customers arrived. One thing that I believe would compliment their menu is more coffee selections, like espressos or cappuccinos, but that’s just me. Oh did I mention the waffles were amazing?!
