Read moreMade my wife ill. We arrived "late" -- perhaps a quarter after 8 pm -- for a place that does most of its business during lunch, to find only one table occupied and no one in line. We placed our orders for cheeseburger combos sans onions, jerked our drinks, and took a seat. The order was called surprisingly quickly, and we retrieved it and tucked in.
The fries with Milo's signature sauce were, of course, outstanding. The iced tea was fine. But the burgers were...off. Although the proprietary toasted buns were flavorful, there was scant little sauce on the burgers, and the patties were nothing more than warm. A quick visual check showed the inside of my patty was pink -- not fully cooked. It tasted a bit off, as well. I let it go because...I'm not sure why, other than I was willing to pass it off as sub-optimal, but not dangerous. But it wasn't right. Upon leaving, my wife complained about this and related matters to the counter guy. He apologized. That helped a lot. The night and the next morning my wife was sick in bed with indigestion -- she called it the worst stomach ache of her life. She said she felt like she was dying and needed to go to the hospital. Fortunately, this passed after several hours in bed and a nap, but I attribute the upset to the undercooked meat from the night before.
You know, these places often have the partially-cooked patties in a basin or otherwise holding, and then finish them off on the cook-top when they are ordered. This time, I strongly suspect that the cooking staff was not busy, bored, and disengaged, and simply took the patties out of whatever holding bath they have, heated them up for a moment, slapped them on a bun, and slid them out to us. And made my wife sick. And in response, my wife says she has sworn off Milo's for all time. What a pity. I'll put it down to a lack of managerial oversight. A most...
Read moreHello Everyone! My experience at my local Pelham-Milos is like finding a small diamond in a rug. The food is great, always hot and fresh. The upgrade to the building both inside and out is very inviting. And now for the service. I've received great service from several servants there, both face-to-face and drive-thru. But there is one person that has truly left footprints on my heart. Who truly put the SUN in SHINE, and his name is Terrance! So sorry, if I spelled his name incorrectly. There are (sooooo) many words to describe him: Pleasant, A smile that can light up any dark or bright room, he's a great listener, awesome spirit, angelic, sociable, polite, welcoming, delightful, and my list could go on and on. Each time I visit, you could never tell he's having a bad day. He treats everyone the same. If there's a few cars ahead of me, I can hear Terrance awesome smile and great service reaching out to every person who drives through to place an order. This is rare in this competitive world of customer service. This can't be taught in a training class, it has to come from within, deep from the heart. So many fast-food restaurants need a (Terrance) servicing their customers, but sadly that's not the case. Cudo's to you Terrance for an awesome job well done!!! He's one of the main reasons why my family and I will continue to eat at Milos. Management: when its time for a raise in his pay, please take in consideration the joy and great service he gives to the customer(s) who visits...
