We Love La Carreta, however last time we went the service was terrible. We know the waitresses name and we choose not to mention it here because everyone can have a bad night but if service like that is what we can expect we will no longer be REGULARS.

Our waitress did not come one time after our meals were served. We were served bread when our meals arrived, see below for appetizer problem... I asked for 4 creams I got 3 for my coffee which never got a refill during the whole meal.

My husband had a diet coke given to him prior to our meal and that was the last drink he was served. It was finished 1/2 way through his meal.

I had asked for extra lime with my meal (when I ordered) I got one dried out sliver of lime.

My daughter finally got me a refill on the coffee after my meal was done by calling out to the waitress to get her to come back to our table (since delivering our food).

I think our favorite disappointment for this visit was when we were handed the check without even being asked if we'd like anything else... which oddly enough we did.. (La Carreta desserts are awesome)

So picture this... Our plates are cleared from the table does the waitress say, "can I get you anything else??" Nope, just slid the check onto the table and walked away.

Now you may think maybe we are jerks or something like that which that behavior was warranted but I can assure you, we didn't even get enough interaction time with the waitress to be jerks.

It was truly hands down the worst service I have ever received in a sit down restaurant.

Note to the manager / chef : The last two times I've ordered papa reyena and had the centers cold and the products themselves taste slightly freezer burned. Please check the dates on your frozen papa reyenas.

The previous time I visited with my kids and was served incorrect to go desserts.

My husband said he's done but I'll give you one last chance and see if you can improve. I sure hope so because when you do your food and service...

La Caretta is a vibrant and inviting slice of Cuban culture that brings the bold flavors and vibrant spirit of Cuba right to your table. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the warm ambiance and colorful decor that set the tone for a truly memorable dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Cuban cuisine or trying it for the first time, La Caretta delivers a feast for the senses that will have you coming back for more.

The menu is a celebration of classic Cuban dishes, each prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The Ropa Vieja, a flavorful shredded beef stew, is a standout, with tender meat simmered in a savory tomato-based sauce. The Lechón Asado, slow-roasted pork with crispy skin, is another favorite, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience. If you’re a fan of seafood, the Camarones al Ajillo (garlic shrimp) is a must-try—plump shrimp cooked in a garlicky, buttery sauce that’s perfect when paired with a side of rice or fried plantains.

But La Caretta’s charm doesn’t stop with the main courses. Their signature sides, like Tostones (fried green plantains) and Yuca con Mojo (yuca with garlic sauce), perfectly complement the rich, savory flavors of the dishes. The restaurant also offers a wide variety of Cuban cocktails, with the Mojito and Cuban Daiquiri being favorites that perfectly match the tropical vibe.

What truly sets La Caretta apart is its friendly, welcoming service. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like part of the family, always ready with a recommendation or to make sure you're enjoying your meal. Whether you’re visiting for a casual lunch or a special celebration, La Caretta provides an authentic Cuban dining experience that never fails to impress. It’s the perfect place to indulge in comforting, flavorful food while immersing yourself in the lively...

Went her last night as a party of 11. The hostess had us seated very quick, like less than 10 minutes. Our server who never actually introduced herself came and took drink orders for everyone who was there. We were still waiting for 5 or 6 people. Their menu says fountain drinks but when we asked she said they didn't have fountain just cans and no refills. Finally the remainder of our party arrives and orders drinks. Once everyone has their drinks she comes a few minutes later to get food orders. My MIL wanted fish ceviche as an appetizer and asked if she could put it in now and come back for the rest of the order. The server said yes but never did it. She then proceeded to skip her and start going around the table. She then skipped two others and walked away ignoring us while we tried to redirect her to get the last 3 orders. Finally I stop her about 5 minutes later and she takes the orders. All is well at this point. 20 minutes or so later, food arrives. It was a very generous amount of food for the price. Looks delicious etc. I ordered chicken milanese. I start eating and it's definitely not chicken. It's beef. I stop her. I explain I have a beef steak instead of chicken. She proceeds to argue that our table had 2 chicken and 1 steak. I don't know that to be true but I know for sure that I ordered chicken because of the language barrier she made me point to it and even told me the pronunciation. Anyway she finally takes it and has it remade. Then we had them come out and sing happy birthday to my stepson & I also ordered guava cheesecake and a flan from the bakery. Those alone deserve 5 stars. The service was just ok and the food was good making the whole experience...

Dang. When you think of a “chain” restaurant, you always think that it won’t be that good. This place defies ALL a notions of that. What an amazing introduction to real Cuban food. I got a Cuban sandwich that had a croqueta (meat and cheese fried ball) inside it, all on a sweet bread. So flavorful and filling. The croqueta was soft when biting in, and the ham from the Cuban sandwich had a snap to it that gave a fantastic contrast in texture. The bread it was on was only slightly sweet, but just enough to provide a nice balance to the sandwich. I also got fried banana chips which were fantastic (identical to the Indian version of banana chips). The difference was their “dipping sauce,” a sweet and acidic sauce that really cuts through the fried plantains, AND it is also a great dipping sauce for that Cuban sandwich! Their coffee and toast is unbelievable, strong, great flavor. Only dip bread in coffee if you ask for bread WITHOUT a butter. Their milkshake with mamey, a Cuban fruit, has a distinct banana flavor, and incredibly refreshing. If you want to order the sandwich, chips, and milkshake, just tell them, “Una orden de mariquitas con mojo, una croqueta preparada en pan de medianoche, y un batido de Mamey.” Get that coffee and toast as an appetizer also!

I ordered (arroz con pollo) for a family gathering. & I don’t live more than 15 minutes away from this location. I arrived home to serve my guests, and the awful foul smell the rice had was if someone had poured a whole bottle of vinegar on that rice. I contacted La Carreta to advise them of the situation, and how I didn’t think it was right to sell me old spoiled rice & chicken. And the general manager stated well, Idk what to tell you maybe at the time of storing the rice it wasn’t put at a correct temperature, and he giggled & also stated that he wasn’t there yesterday so he couldn’t argue with me on that. He then proceeded to say the he would refund me back 50% of the purchase, I agreed. Before disconnecting the call I had the manager confirm that he had the last 4 #’s of my credit card, and he giggled and said that he will have to sit in the “back” to check all receipts. And then confirms my # as if I didn’t know he was reading it off of the caller ID. He promised he’ll give me a call tomorrow 7/15. Let’s see if he’s a man of his word. If not, I will write a bad review everyday until I receive that call and my refund cause this was extremely embarrassing.

The customer service is beyond unsatisfactory and the manager does not even care. It might be because I am Asian that my girlfriend and I received really horrible services. It took 30 minutes just to get a sandwich, plant bread, and a coffee as you can see on the picture with the timestamp. It took two times asking two different people as well as the manager to receive our order. On top of taking forever to get our food while others who ordered food behind us received their's before us, they even messed up our order. The special sandwich was ordered with pickles on the side, but that's not the case as you can see. My girlfriend ordered a coffee with suger, but received nothing. The service is horrible and sad, which gave my girlfriend a bad headache/migraine. My girlfriend love this place since she was little and being Latina as well as going there all the time. Hope they improve their service. Just a sad day since my girlfriend is on bad rest now thanks to them. 😣😣
