Used to love the place for the food. Used to go at lunch time, more than once a week. One time had to order to pick up. I ordered the soup (the only they have in the menu), and a Mezes salad. Food turned out to be a disaster, i found a big piece of plastic inside the soup and the chicken in the salad was dry and a complete disaster. It seems like they dont do a good job on to go food, but a piece of plastic? Give me a break!!!!. I called and the person who answered apologized many times and ask me to go back and go and eat my soup and my salad on the house. Her name is Taylor, she told me to ask for her. The day I went to the place and asked for her she was off and a lady who happens to be the very OWNER took me to the table. When I explained to her the situation and what Taylor told me to do, she told me that they don't do that, that they actually need to see the food when those things happen. Are you kidding? When you order food to go, you are on the go, you open your food miles away an of course... who has the time to go back?. She was very rude and insinuated I was lying to get food for free. I payed for my food and I will never go back, she knows I was a regular customer, that was my last time there. I am sharing this with my coworkers who used to love the place. Dont go there, you find plastic in your food, if you order to go is a disaster but there is nothing to do about it, you have to go all the way back to prove...
Read moreThis restaurant is absolutely fantastic. I tasted one thing from appetizer to dessert and I can’t complain about anything. The service is good and the environment is family friendly. This is a great place to go with kids or on a double date, or a group of friends. The complementary pitas and hummus were perfection. The food arrived hot and the hummus was fresh. If you’ve never tried Greek food before, the lemon chicken is a wonderful choice. It’s a good introduction to Greek flavors and it comes with potatoes and roasted peppers. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, the spanakopita is a great phyllo with spinach, feta cheese, and scallions. The phyllo is flaky and the filling tastes great! It is served with fresh salad and potatoes. You can also order the spanakopita as an appetizer (smaller portion, doesn’t come with the sides). The Greek Sangria is $7/cup and $23/pitcher. Get the pitcher! The sangria is divine. For dessert, we had almond cookies topped with confectioners sugar. They are about the size of the average palm of the hand and are only 75 cents. A treat for the whole family. This is definitely a place I’ll be going to again as they have a vast seafood menu that I am...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a great Greek restaurant, definitely check out Mezes Greek Tavern. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly host who took us to our table and gave us a rundown of the menu. We then met our waiter who took our orders and gave us great suggestions on what we should try. The restaurant has a classic Mediterranean ambience. They had a huge bar with multitude of beers and wines to offer, plus a bakery section with different classic Greek desserts. Each table is given complementary hummus and pita chips. The hummus has such great garlic flavor. I ordered the Gyro platter, which was amazing! The Gyro meat which is lamb and beef was so juicy and packed with flavor, I could not stop eating it. The platter is paired with a Greek salad and french fries. The french fries were so soft, but yet very crispy. My friends ordered the chicken platter and shrimp mythos which she loved. She said with the shrimp mythos, the tomato sauce paired very well with the huge shrimps and combination of vegetables in the rice. I cannot wait to come...
