We visited this restaurant on a Friday night, around 5pm for quick dinner. We had been traveling most of the day and wanted something to eat nearby our hotel with good ratings. We thought, you can’t go wrong with Mexican, especially with 4.5 star rating. We arrived, and sign said, please wait to be seated. Ok so we waited, and waited watching several waitresses come by and not one greeted us. Then another person walked in asked if there was a wait. Told them no one had even approached us.
Finally someone acknowledged us, we said 2 and a baby and she asked if we needed a high chair, yes we did. She left, and then a minute or so later another girl approached us asking the same, told her someone else I think was helping us. Another minute or so goes by and we get seated. So far it’s been about 15 min and we’re now just getting seated. She takes our drink order (2 Coronas), I ask for a side of beans for our baby to eat while we were waiting for our drinks . She never brought a high chair, so we’re literally just sitting there waiting for a high chair, we ask the other girl there is we could get a high chair and she brings one.
Drinks come back to us, and we only order one plate to share. Carne asada plate, medium well, with flour tortillas. We has been there now about 30min or so and just getting our order in, still no side of beans that we asked for when we sat down. We stop the other girl again, ask for side of beans, she said ummm I’m the hostess you need to ask the waitress. First off, if you are the hostess, why were you not there seating anyone? Second, why are you wandering around making small talk with customers, when there are people waiting to be seated? So we wait, and the entire time since we sat down, we were noticing how disgustingly dirty the items on the table were. It had a sticky dusty film on it, like when you don’t face proper ventilation when you cook, and it creates a residue on surfaces.
I don’t think they’ve done a good cleaning in there for a while, cause it was really built up on the table items (salt and pepper, salsa bottles, and plastic sign). Still waiting, it’s been 30min since we ordered, and not once have we seen our waitress. We decided we weren’t going to keep waiting and I walk back there and trying to find someone. They have 1 waiters, one ringing up customers and the other, I think the manager running back and forth from the register to the kitchen. Just looked chaotic. Our waitress shows up out of the kitchen and sees me and immediately says your foods ready, so I go back to my table. Food comes 5min later and she says, did you want corn or flour tortillas... flour.
We only ordered 1 dish, and she leaves us hanging again for another 5min. During that time we noticed the meat is rare, like touched to the grill and served. She comes back with the tortillas and we explain this is not what we ordered and we’re ready to just get the check and leave. She tried to convince us we ordered rare, and she looked at her book and said she placed the order wrong. We were done, $9 for our drinks after waiting 1hr 15min still hungry. We ended up at Pho place next door, ordered there and got our food in 10min.
My suggestion to this restaurant, make sure your staff is on point, give realistic expectations to customers if there is wait, check on your guests, and clean! Please for the love of god clean, because i can only imagine what it’s like in...
Read moreFirst time I've decided to try it, i got the shredded beef burrito for $10.00 my girlfriend got a steak fajita taco salad for $7.50. I ordered in ahead of time so it'd be ready for pick up and she was charged $20+, not sure why unless their menu prices online are wrong. Neither meal was worth the original price let alone more. The shredded beef was EXTREMELY over salted. I like a lot of seasoning in my food but this tasted like heart disease, i forced myself to eat it cause it's a 30+ minute drive back. It was literally shredded beef wrapped in a tortilla, no rice, beans, cilantro, sour cream, nothing but meat and tortilla with a very skimpy portion of refried beans and cheese and some rice. Her " taco salad " was literally one very small flour tortilla cut into 2 half chips, with the lettuce and steak fajita mix on top which wilted the lettuce before she made it home. Part her bad for wanting a taco salad to go, but skimpy on the lettuce and portions in general definitely contributed as well as awful guacamole. I will never eat here again, the food i received didn't even resemble the pictures or praises from other reviews, the quality and portions were terrible and i didn't even save a couple bucks as expecting because we were over charged. Oh and she got ranch for her salad that tasted like store bought that sat out too long after originally telling me they don't have ranch before remembering there was a salad then suddenly it was n/p. The ranch ended up in the trash along with the salad and burnt mini taco sized flour tortilla, she ate the meat only and i forced myself to eat mine by drenching sour cream to mask the saltiness at risk of diabetes, heart attack or stroke. Poor experience all around, I'll go to Milton to Patty's or down town next time. Or just make mine at home. Paying $10 for less than $1 worth of overly salted meat makes me not want to go out. I make home made carnitas and i could easily make 50 of these for about $20 with any extras and sides i want. Don't...
Read moreGreeted kindly by a man and seated, but I don't think he let the servers know we were there. They passed by many times for 10+ minutes and we finally stopped one as shewas walking by to ask if she could help us order. My husband and I ordered Chii Rellenos which were recommended by waitress. They were the worst Rellenos we have ever had. I actually thought they made a mistake as it looked like Pico de Gallo diced veggies wrapped in what I thought was a tortilla. Then cheese on top of the wrapped veggie rollup and a cooked green chili draped over the top. When I tasted what I had thought was a tortilla, it was very mushy, wet and grainy ... I realized it was actually cooked egg like a very thin omelet. What?? The waitress didn't come by to ask how we were doing, so I scraped off the egg mush and had lukewarm veggies and cheese. I thought it was some type of keto vegetable burrito ordered by mistake.
When waitress came back for payment she said there was no error, and it WAS a Chilli Rellenos. She said that is how it was supposed to be made correctly.
Bad choice...
