$55.00 Sunday Brunch for THREE; GONE NOT SO WELL...FIRST VISIT; FIRST IMPRESSION TO BE THE LAST. We go out on weekends for Brunch/Lunch, and after living in Pendleton for 20 years, we have never ate at Sisters Cafe since they have opened, neither at the old location or this new one, so we decided finally to give it a try. On the weekends, we avoid going to the "fast food" places to enjoy ourselves over a decent sit-down meal with getting "better than average" service.
If we were to go to Sisters for hard drinks, we might have gotten better service, as we've seen others get at the Bar during our visit. We were looking for a sit-down "service" style Restaurant, and what we found was an "Order at the register experience", and take a seat. It basically was a BAR, and was kind of shocked to see kids there, even without adults present.
Besides all that, we decided to stay and order anyway. After a 55.00 bill for (3) people for brunch, it didn't even come with drinks, EVEN THOUGH WE ORDERED AND PAID FOR THEM. This is when everything went SOUTH. Even after waiting for our food.... NO DRINKS; Even when our foods was served....NO DRINKS. I finally got up to go get us some waters from the water pitcher they had out. After awhile, as my Wife and Mother in-law were over 1/2 the way done with or meal, not me because I was getting overly anxious about not having our drinks, and actually losing my appetite. I went up to the counter to inquire about our drinks (Coffee and a Mocha), and the gals simply said "we are making them." What I was completely shocked about, was the fact that they seemed to me as if it was normal for someone to wait until they were almost done eating for a coffee and a mocha. No apology, no nothing. REALLY.....Unbelievably shocking; THEY (the counter/order people) REALLY ACT LIKE THEY'RE THE ONLY FOOD PLACE AROUND, and if you don't like it....there's the door.
i went and sat back down for a bit longer, then saw some people that came in and got drinks (smoothies or something) right away after they ordered. Well now my patience wore more than thin, and went back up to the counter and inquired about our drinks again, and got the same response "we're making it".
Yes, exactly what you're thinking, you'd get your money back and leave. Absolutely, I did just that, I demanded a refund, and had to go to Starbucks for drinks (COFFEE FOR MOTHER-IN-LAW), way too stressed out for a mocha now). I just couldn't believe it, even while demanding a refund, they made it seem like it was my fault, and didn't seem to understand why I was a bit disturbed, with no remorse as to the overall experience I was having.
I was so beside myself at this point, that I couldn't get myself to eat the rest of my meal, so we left without any intentions of ever coming back to this place. Sorry to say, but McDonald's would have been a better choice today; service wise, although the gal that brought out the food was the best part of the whole experience, as she was kind and genuine (Only reason for the 1 star).
Through all of this, they didn't even care to offer the coffee or mocha as a courtesy after knowing they were delivering us a Bad Experience. At this point, I wouldn't have really cared about the mocha.....but the coffee......come on.
Now if you bring your own drinks, (coffee), then you will have good food, as long as you like spending good money for an "ORDER IN LINE", TAKE A NUMBER...
Read moreI can’t comment about the food at this restaurant, but they were extremely rude and ‘disrespectful’ today. We were in town for the round up where they have Main street completely blocked off with multiple food trucks. We ordered food from the food truck directly in front of the restaurant and assumed that the tables that were pushed completely out onto the sidewalk towards the street part of the seating for Food trucks and the round up festivities as there were people eating at the tables with food from the food truck. We sat down and were eating our food and I’m assuming the owner or manager came out and proceeded to tell us how ‘ ‘ ‘disrespectful’ we were. I have no issue with someone letting us know that the seating was for restaurant customers, and we would’ve happily left, but to be called ‘disrespectful’ when we truly made an honest mistake was just out of proportion to the situation. I told her that I didn’t think it was fair to call us disrespectful when it was an honest mistake and we would gladly move and she argued with me that ‘yes we were being disrespectful’. I will never go to this restaurant and will tell everybody I know to avoid it - What a poor representation of Pendleton Round up Hospitality!I’m posting a review to let others know. Apparently, she was butt hurt that people are buying food from food trucks instead of their restaurant and took this very personal! Get a life. As you can see, it wasn’t like people were waiting for tables and also you can see from the picture how one could’ve mistaken the tables being open tor food trucks...
Read moreI went to Sister's last night to attend a standing monthly meeting that I have with my church commission. The food is always outstanding and the service was great. However, when my bill arrived at the end of the night, it showed that I owed $23 for my baja power bowl. Recalling that this amount was not what was advertised, I grabbed a menu and located the item. The list price for the baja power bowl was $11.49. I added shrimp for another $5 (per the menu). Thus, my total should have come to $16.49. When I inquired about my bill with the server, she retrieved a menu and pointed out that "new" menu prices reflected $13.99 for the power bowl and another $8 for the shrimp. She also said that I was charged $1.50 for the extra jalapenos that I subbed for the avocado (a much more expensive ingredient). When I showed the server the menu that listed the prices previously mentioned, and which I ordered from, she refused to adjust my bill. Ultimately, she cut $2 from my total as a consolation, but had no concern or regard for the fact that the prices reflected on the menu I was given were...
