Editing my previous review. It left a lot to be desired today. There were an awful lot of people at work who weren't working or looked like zombies (seriously just slow walking with a dazed look like they didnt want to be there). Three servers were hustling and our server was great given the circumstances. Im sure she would have been even better if she weren't taking care of so much. We were brought the wrong food twice. I'm sure they were simple mistakes and they were immediately fixed. My food came out well done and so salted that it could be seen that much from across the table, which wasn't fixable so I brought it home. We didnt get plates or silverware, even when someone brought us our appetizers. Another thing that would have been fine on its own. The food? Not quite worth what we paid for this time. Perhaps it was one of those days there where everything goes wrong. We all have them. And had it been just one or two things, I wouldn't have bothered updating my review. To me its that those thing shouldn't have all happened with that many people there working, and that many people shouldn't have been seen sitting or standing around while three others seem to be doing it all. I'm easy to please and will likely go back when those I am with want to go again. I am writing this so that if this isn't just a one-off bad day, it will hopefully be noticed and changed. Servers shouldn't have to smile and be perky happy all the time, but zombie-like isn't cool either. It's not fun to eat at a place where it seems like half the staff hates that they are there (again, our server was great). It definitely was in contrast to our other visits. Its a chain restaurant, so the food is going to be the same across the board pretty much. That leaves commenting on service. We were in on St Patrick's day for a birthday dinner. We were greeted quickly and seated as soon as someone was free. Our server was attentive, nice, smiling. We were comfortable. Served quickly. A problem (on our end, not the server or kitchen) was resolved with ease. The atmosphere for employees didn't seem rushed or unhappy. Anymore that is worth noting. I prefer being helped by...
Read moreStarted bad with dirty silverware that had old food on it. That was giving to us after the salad was brought out . Server disappeared so I went and washed our tables silverware. After that it only got worse with cold food even though they weren't busy. Complaint about it being cold was handled by putting the medium steak into the microwave and adding more cheese and garnish to the potatoes. 😒☹😔 The manager brought it back out well done and tough via the microwave. My son's pasta and cheese from his chicken parmesan was hard from sitting too long. Chicken looked like it had been cooked in old oil. My riblets were super cold. The only thing hot was my fries and shrimp. Service was terrible she didn't come back to refill drinks or see if I wanted anything else for my endless meal till we asked for check. She promptly came back for the bill and her tip though.🤔Lets not forget to include the manager that thought it was okay to give someone a steak out the microwave turning it to jerky when they ordered a medium. They offered to comp it after I had to walk it to the kitchen because the server was no where to be found and another 15 wait. Plus make a new one but the damage was already done had already waited 15 additional minutes for a reheated steak when a fresh one could have been made in that time plus an additional 15 minutes after I handed it back to them. What about everyone else's food that sat in the window forever getting cold and hard waiting on the server. Worst experience ever at Applebees we won't be returning .😑😑 Only complained to the people about the steak because we didn't want to be " that table that's trying to get a free meal or complaining about...

During my stay in the West Middlesex area last year, I was looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't fast food. I checked my Tripadvisor App, my Yelp and my Google and chose Applebee's in Hermitage. I had just driven in from a long day on the road and was super hungry. I pulled up in the driveway and found parking quite easily and quickly. I wasn't in the mood to hang out at the bar, so I got a table, fairly quickly a=for Sunday dinner service. I noticed right away that the calories were listed on the menu items, so that's a plus for me.
My server was friendly and made some recommendations, and I settled on a local craft beer, tortilla soup and the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp, which was a no brainer at 610 calories. The tortilla was just above average, but edible, with some hot sauce. The beer was a great match for the chicken and shrimp. On my plate the potatoes were roasted, nit too salty, and had just enough crispness to them. The chicken was soft juicy tender, and not too salty and served on a bed of sauteed onions, on a sizzling plate ( nice touch), My shrimp was cooked evenly and the portion was just right, not too much, and not too little. The only thing I would watch out for with this selection is the scoop of garlic and chive butter that's plopped on top of the shrimp.
Conclusion: A Good healthy meal that hit my macros, I didn't wait too long even though it was busy, and the service was great. One thing I'll always say about Applebee's is that they...
