BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES!!! They charge a "cash adjustment" fee and tack it on to your receipt at the end of your meal. You are not told about this 3% UP CHARGE until you get your bill. For what?!?! Raising food prices?!?! 3%? But if you pay with cash, you don't pay it?!?! SCAM! They call it a "cash discount" yet nothing is discounted from your meal if you pay with cash. I went for a birthday party and do not frequent this place at all but came to support a family member. I was charged 20% gratuity for my party of 2, was not allowed to order off of the main menu, and then was also asked for an "additional tip" on my receipt with the other "cash adjustment" and added 20% gratuity you are not told about. This solidifies my reason why I do not support this place. It is way over priced for the subpar under seasoned food they serve. They are trying to be an upscale restaurant serving diner style meals. Lol! They just put a spoonful of butter and minced garlic from a jar on top of my steak. I did not have the option to order off of the main menu as I did not like the offerings that were on a piece of paper WITHOUT ANY PRICES! We had to get the real menu to know what the prices were and when asked to order a burger for a special needs individual the staff still said no while everyone around us in the restaurant was able to order off of the regular menu. There were tables 10 ft away from us ordering off of the regular menu. They could have easily made the burger! This place is a joke! We...
Read moreCourtesy of a listing on Happy Cow, a plant-based food restaurant guide app, we found Vey’s, due to its inclusion of vegan options. And the one my partner had tasted very good, a vegan chicken sandwich. We split an order of fried green tomatoes, which were excellent by themselves, generously breaded and not at all oily, served with (on the side, for my partner's sake) real crab meat, blue cheese dressing, an incredible balsamic vinegar reduction and chives. I got the non-vegan spoils, which made the appetizer all the more delectable.
For my meal I had the shrimp Po boy, stuffed with shrimp and the works, on a perfectly toasted half-foot bun, served with a spicy tartar sauce.
We're not local to Sharon, we just had an errand to run and had been looking for lunch when we were done, but the restaurant, for all its being a bar, definitely had some unusual offerings for a bar and grille. Our server, a very attentive and efficient college student, made it all the more enjoyable.
We ate on the patio, which connects through, rather than to, the bar, making waitstaff have to go the long way around to serve. Make sure you tip well for...
Read moreWe love Vey's! We recently moved to the area and wondered into Vey's (pub side) for happy hour one night. We were pleasantly greeted by live music, a full bar, and tvs for my husband to watch the game. I got an orange mule, he got a Miller Lite and both were good! I could taste the alcohol but it wasn't overwhelming. We ordered the hot peppers and pita chips. The chips looked to be house made and were delicious! Peppers had a good kick and had us going back in for more. I got one of the chef's special, salmon over a vegetable medley with a side salad. 2 6oz planks were more than enough to feed me twice! The medley was different than I have ever seen; peas (which I don't prefer but were amazing), little baby onions (maybe pearl onions?) caramelized and sweet, green beans, and squash. Absolutely delicious that night and the next day! My husband got a pizza burger, that was cooked to his liking, and perfectly fried fries! Our meal was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great! We are looking forward to our next visit to Vey's! 10/10...
